Camden was the state’s top team throughout the season, while Wildwood Catholic avenged its loss in last season’s sectional final with a 80-67 win over Rutgers Prep. Lance Ware Lance Ware 6'9" | PF Camden | 2020 #42 Nation NJ and Taj Thweatt Taj Thweatt 6'7" | PF Wildwood Catholic | 2020 State #180 Nation NJ were both selected to First Team All-State, while Dajuan Wagner Jr Dajuan Wagner Jr 6'4" | PG Camden | 2023 State #1 Nation NJ . and Jahlil White Jahlil White 6'6" | SG Wildwood Catholic | 2020 State #258 Nation NJ were both All-State selections. South Jersey has a number of talented forwards who are capable of making the All-State team. Here are the South Jersey forwards with the best chances of making the All-State team.
Zach Hicks Zach Hicks 6'7" | SF Camden Catholic | 2021 State #154 Nation NJ , 6’7 SF Camden Catholic 2021
The Irish have been to three straight Non-Public A South title games and are looking to make it there again in 2020-21. Hicks had a strong postseason run as he averaged 21.3 points per game. The 6’7 forward has a smooth offensive game as he can attack the basket strong, shoot over his defender and finish through contact. Hicks has a good feel for the game and is a strong rebounder. His ability to score the ball makes him a strong candidate to be a member of the All-State team after the end of his senior season.
Matt Delaney, 6’7 SF/PF St. Augustine 2021
The Hermits took home the Non-Public A South and they are in contention for it again next season. Delaney is a stretch-four that makes an impact on both ends of the floor. The 6’7 forward has a nice touch around the basket, but is also capable of knocking down jumpers with a clean shooting stroke. Delaney is a good post defender and is one of the top rebounders in the 2021 class. He has a chance for a big 2020-21 season, which could put him on the All-State team.
Ta’Quan Woodley Ta’Quan Woodley 6'7" | PF Camden | 2021 State #221 Nation NJ , 6’6 PF Camden 2021
The Panthers need someone to replace Ware’s production down low and Woodley is the guy. The Penn State commit is a rugged forward who is a force to be reckoned with down low. Woodley has a soft touch around the basket and loves to finish above the rim. He is an excellent rebounder and is a talented shot-blocker. Wagner Jr. will be the star for Camden in 2020-21, but Woodley’s presence down low is good enough to make the All-State team.
Nicolo Nobili Nicolo Nobili 6'9" | PF Paul VI | 2022 OH , 6’9 PF Paul VI 2021
The Eagles have a strong 2021 class in Nobili, Wisler Sanon Wisler Sanon 6'2" | CG Paul VI | 2021 State NJ , Jalen Boyd-Savage and Jordany Pierre who are looking to take home the Non-Public A South title. The former is a skilled power forward with a versatile offensive game. Nobili plays with good footwork down low and has a nice touch around the basket. The Italian native can also knock down jumpers and is one of the top passing forwards in the state. Sanon and Boyd-Savage are the stars for Paul VI, but Nobili’s ability to make plays down low gives him a chance to make the All-State team.
Zubair Lee Zubair Lee 6'5" | SF Eastern | 2021 State NJ , 6’5 SF Eastern 2021
The Vikings may have lost in the South Jersey Group 4 quarterfinals, but they return one of the top small forwards in South Jersey. Lee is an athletic swingman who can beat his man off the dribble and finish through contact. The lanky 6’5 forward has a good mid-range game and is capable of hitting shots from behind the arc. Lee is one of the better defenders in the 2021 class due to his combination of length and athleticism. Eastern will be looking for a monster season out of Lee, which could put him on the All-State team after the 2020-21 season.
