We aren’t including Broden Lien Broden Lien 6'8" | PF ISA | 2021 MN here because he is the best basketball player in Class A basketball next year and we have talked about him extensively (and will be speaking about him many times again in the near future). This is more about introducing some others.
Grant Beuckens Grant Beuckens 5'11" | PG West Central Area | 2021 State MN of West Central Area (2021). Grant is one of the toughest players to deal with if you let him get a dribble inside the arc. Grant’s mid-range jumper as well as his ability to get inside the arc and find a teammate for a high percentage shot rank with the best. He led West Central Area to a 27-3 record while averaging 13-14 points a game.
Tanner Heier Tanner Heier 6'1" | PG Rothsay | 2022 MN of Rothsay (2022). Rothsay had a tough season but Tanner Heier Tanner Heier 6'1" | PG Rothsay | 2022 MN made a name for himself as a 6-foot-1 guard. Tanner had some rough shooting games but that’s because everything ran through him. This is a high IQ player that scored 15 a game showing off a jumper after a shot was crafted by his right hand.
Payton Keezer of Mahnomen/Waubun (2021). Payton is a constant impact player, on both ends. Keezer blocked a couple shots a game, totaled a number of steals, and as a 6-foot-1 wing he found every way to score 22 points a game. The Thunderbirds return their entire line-up next season so expectations for Payton, and his team are high next year.
Hunter Norby Hunter Norby 6'3" | SF Ashby | 2022 MN of Ashby (2022). Hunter has a lot of physical gifts that could make him a tough force to deal with the next two years. He is 6-foot-4 with a great bounce and solid strength averaging 13-14 points a game. Norby got rolling late winning 8 of their last 10 and that is when Norby was at his best.
Tate Olson Tate Olson 6'5" | SF New York Mills | 2022 State MN of New York Mills (2022). Tate Olson Tate Olson 6'5" | SF New York Mills | 2022 State MN will be one of the most versatile players in Class A basketball the next two seasons, and he maybe was one of the more versatile talents last year as well. Olson scored his 21 per game with his back to the basket or attacking the rim coming down hill in transition. Good rebounder, top on his team in assists, and scored 21 a game.
