This past weekend the ECI program took part in the Sanford Pentagon Invitational. Here are five standouts from the ECI program based on last weekend’s play.
Carson Lamp of Jamestown (17u Prospects). Carson was consistent in all three games playing solid on both ends of the floor as he continues to make the word “consistent” his calling card. This past winter as a six foot guard Lamp scored 16 a game making half of his shots plus four boards and four assists a contest. He guarded really well and took care of the ball on the offensive end. Carson also was crafty in finding ways to score at all three levels.
Gunner Swanson of Bismarck High (17u Prospects). Gunner has really sprouted up over this past year growing to 6-foot-5 as a guard and with that he has gained a ton of confidence. Swanson had a great high school season averaging 14 points and five boards a game (shot 6-7 threes a game and made 40 percent of them) and Gunner has carried that over to AAU so far. His length and athleticism has really made him a tough match-up.
Belind AlemadiBelindAlemadi
6'1" | PG Moorhead | 2021StateMN of Moorhead (MN) (17u Prospects). Belind is a true floor general as he’s always composed and under control. He’s very good at getting the ball to the open hand and is also good at attacking the rim and finishing in traffic. He is a great defender who makes it tough on his opponent with persistent ball pressure. Alemadi scored eight a game during the winter with about six assists a contest. Belind is one of the top 20-25 lead guards in the state of Minnesota.
Aaron Grubb of Mandan (16u Prospects). Aaron guarded and rebounded at a high level continuing a fight that started last winter. The 6-foot-2 wing began his sophomore year playing on the Mandan B-team. Eventually he was playing JV and even had some buckets in varsity games by the end of the year. This past weekend with ECI Grubb took more steps as he attacked downhill offensively for multiple scores per game. Always plays hard.
Mason Hills of Moorhead (MN) (16u Prospects). If you have followed Spuds basketball this year you know that they had a stacked upperclassmen backcourt. Mason, a 5-foot-11 guard, has waited his turn helping the Spuds win a lot of JV games. This past weekend Mason had a great weekend as he played hard every possession. His biggest attribute is his ability to get in the paint and finish. He’s very crafty in his finishes. He also makes it tough on opposing guards as he likes to pick up full court.
