Grassroots Season Preview: Grand Park Premier 2021 Black

With hope and anticipation of the start of the AAU season, we begin our look at some of the top AAU teams in the state. Over the next few weeks, we will spotlight teams and some of the top players to watch. He’s a bigger guard with a lot of confidence and plays like an older guy. He was tough on the ball in this event, showing his ability to handle pressure and still make plays. He’s a bigger guard with a lot of confidence and plays with a lot of maturity. He has a quick trigger, and he is not afraid to pull from anywhere on the court. If he could start driving the ball a little more, it would add a whole other element to his already electric game, but he definitely has the ability to shine this summer. One Player We Need To See More: [player_tooltip player_id="963904" first="Will" last="Leary"] <span data-sheets-value="{"1":2,"2":"Leary is a big guard/wing who really light up the basket. He’s got good size and some strength now and when he was looking to shoot, he was a little tough for some smaller guards to defend. Everything was off the catch but it was quick and high on the release. Does have some handles to play in the lane at times but is best when on the wing. Will be interesting to see what else he can add as the rebounding looked helpful too. He’s got good size and some strength now and when he looks to shoot, he becomes very tough for some smaller guards to defend. He excels mostly off of the catch and shoot as he has a very quick and high release on his shot. We need to see him a little bit more to see how big of an impact he can have, but he has the skills to take his game to the next level. One Player That Should Surprise: [player_tooltip player_id="874123" first="Brody" last="Whitaker"] <span data-sheets-value="{"1":2,"2":"Not the best game from Brody who missed a ton of jumpers in this one. Just really bad luck more than anything as he has proven he is a big time shooting guard. Wasn’t as aggressive early on but picked it up as the game wore down. Drove a little bit but did need to be more effective there. Showed a post up score as well as a couple easier layups and a pretty little floater. However, he does have times in which he gets complacent and his skill level takes a dip. He can score it so well from all areas of the floor, but he is at that point where he just needs to take things up a notch because he has that ability that not many do right now. Should he be able to put everything together this summer, he should surprise everyone.
