ND Phenom has a promising collection of talent that should draw a lot of intrigue on the circuit.
Here is a quick look
Guards: Max Tschosik, Ethan Morin, Garrett Bader, Aidan Rebel, Tristin Davis
Tschosik was one of many breakout stars for a Bismarck team that was one of the final four teams standing in the Class A State Tournament. A strong two-way lead guard, Tschosik is a strong 3-point shooter and a heady playmaker who does a good job pushing the tempo and putting pressure on the ball.
Davis emerged as one of the best guards in the WDA as a junior for Turtle Mountain, averaging better than 15 points and four assists. He’s slippery with the ball and tough to keep out of the paint. He’s a solid rebounder for a guard and looks to push the pace whenever possible.
Morin is a 2022 guy from Dunseith who can really shoot it. He’s a smart two guard who plays with a solid understanding of how to use screens and space to his advantage. On a team with multiple quality shot-creators, Morin could be a valuable kickout valve who can make some noise as a shooter.
Bader was a fringe minute guy for Bismarck St. Mary’s as a Sophomore and could use the experience this summer as a springboard into his junior season in which he’ll have an opportunity to earn big minutes.
Rebel gives this group some size on the perimeter, going 6-foot-5 with good length and passing instincts. He’s active in the passing lanes on the defensive end of the floor, a sound playmaker and a solid finisher around the rim.
Forwards: Wyatt Enno, Evan Ulrich, Justice Coleman, Keith Levin
Enno and Coleman were poised to be two of the top forwards in the WDA last year but both missed (Coleman played just seven games while Enno missed the whole year) time with injuries. Both head into this summer hoping to make up for lost time.
Enno was one of the best sophomores in the state two seasons ago and showed he could translate it to the AAU circuit last summer. He’s got the size, quickness and skill to be a matchup problem for a lot of teams. He’s a solid 3-point shooter, adept at getting to his spots in the mid-range and can finish at a strong rate.
Coleman is one of the most talented players in the 2021 class even if he struggled in the early stages of his junior year at Bismarck Century. If he’s healthy, he could be a big impact guy on this team. He’s a big, athletic swingman who can shoot it from deep, get to the paint, make the right passes, rebound in and out of his area and defend multiple positions.
Ulrich enjoyed a breakout junior season for New Rockford-Sheyenne after a solid summer showing with ND Phenom a year ago. At 6-foot-7, Ulrich has good footwork in the post, a soft touch around the rim and the ability to defend and rebound at a high level.
Levin emerged as one of the top bigs in the WDA last year, anchoring a Jamestown team that reached the state semifinals despite missing its best player with an injury. Levin is a terrific defender and rebounder, who showed he can score efficiently in a complementary role.
