It’s been a unique summer to say the least. Many players who were depending on the grassroots season to show their stuff to college coaches, unfortunately won’t get the chance. That makes it even more important to keep their name’s in front of college coaches. In this article we take a look at some west coast sleepers that coaches should have on their radar.

1. [player_tooltip player_id="799308" first="Ethan" last="Speaker"] 6’6 SF Boulder City (#8PHN) - Everyday, I get at least one text from a coach asking about Speaker. The 6’6 wing can shoot it, moves well without the ball, and is an explosive athlete that tries to finish everything above the rim.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="927117" first="Jan" last="Madi Ngock"] 6’7 PF Trinity 2021 (#7PHN) - Size, fluidity and athleticism. What’s not to love about JMN. He probably is the one guy penalized the most by the shutdown, as he would have made a big splash this summer with his highlight plays alone.

3. Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa 6’2 PG Brookside Christian (#5PHNC) - De La Rosa is quietly putting together one of the best statistical careers in the nation. He followed up a 24-7-3-4 season, with a 22-7-4-4 season. Dude is uber quick and one of the best on ball defenders on the west coast.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="843723" first="Jaylahn" last="Tuimoloau"] 6’5 PF Eastside Catholic (#17PHW) - Let’s keep it real, if he wasn’t one of the top football players in the nation, he definitely would be playing bball in college. The undersized power forward is an absolute load down low that possess nimble feet.

5. [player_tooltip player_id="927116" first="Cameron" last="Kimble"] 6’4 SG Clark (#12PHN) (featured image) - Where are Cam Kimble’s offers? The 6’4 wing is an excellent 1 on 1 scorer that understands how to change heights and speeds to create space. He’s a knock down shooter from 3, and has the size and length to guard college wings.

6. Trenton McLaughlin 6’4 SG Basha (#24PHA) - McLaughlin isn’t completely under the radar, as he holds an offer from Northern Arizona. His shooting ability warrants more looks. He’s a tall outside wing shooter that could serve as a nice complimentary floor spacer for the right program.

7. [player_tooltip player_id="843740" first="Gavin" last="Gilstrap"] 6’10 C Central Valley (#34PHW) - Saw him a lot last summer as he played on our circuit. They say you can’t teach size and the 6’10 Gilstrap comes in at about 280 pounds. A lane clogger and rebounder, any team looking for a big, may want to put him on their radar.

8. [player_tooltip player_id="533061" first="Dayshawn" last="Wiley"] 6’3 SG Desert Pines (#10PHN) - Wiley is an explosive athlete, that can also serve as a floor spacer. He’s a college defender right now, with the versatility to defend both on ball, as well as play the passing lanes.

9. [player_tooltip player_id="711287" first="Lemuel" last="Armstrong"] 6’7 PF Rainer Beach (#33PHW) - Armstrong’s athletic ability is extremely attractive. He’s the type of player that makes impact plays with his energy, effort and R&J ability alone.

10. Isaiah Gilliam 6’0 SG South Albany (#21PHO) - I don’t know what level he is, but I’m a big fan of Gilliam’s competitive spirit. A combo guard that keeps relentless pressure on the defense with his slashing and driving ability.
