The Class of 2022 is top heavy when it comes to the point guard position. There are many more talents that you have not know about yet, but you will soon.

[player_tooltip player_id="933736" first="Amari" last="Campbell"] | St. Joe’s Metuchen

Campbell is one of the biggest names to watch in 2020-2021. He plays for a powerhouse in St. Joe’s and got off to a hot start as a sophomore. K-Shawn Schulters is graduating leaving the Falcons in need of a new top option. Campbell has the skill set to be that option. He showed that he can take over a game offensively and do it in many ways.

[player_tooltip player_id="901992" first="Braxton" last="Jones"] | Trenton Catholic

Trenton Catholic was run by [player_tooltip player_id="850324" first="Jamir" last="Watkins"] during his final season but with the VCU commit gone, Jones will have a chance to take on an even bigger role. Jones showed his ability to handle the ball and be an all around shooter. He could spot up on the perimeter or pull up off the dribble. Trenton Catholic is in good hands moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="901994" first="Josiah" last="Brown"] | New Brunswick

Brown took a backseat to [player_tooltip player_id="942437" first="Ahyan" last="Brown-Miller"] in 2019-2020, but he showed flashes of being an impact performer during his upperclassman years. Brown finished second on the team in assists. He is a gifted passer that can run an offense in the half court. Brown can score at all three levels and that will only continue to grow as he continues to improve.

[player_tooltip player_id="933655" first="Jamar" last="Belfield"] | Paterson Charter

Belfield missed time in the middle of the season but he was a dynamic scorer throughout the early part of the schedule. He showed this with an early 21 point performance in a win over DePaul. Belfield does his best work in the lane or from midrange. He has a smooth looking shot but does not venture out to the three-point line much. He will continue to put his game together at Paterson Charter.

[player_tooltip player_id="931024" first="Tommy" last="Mooney"] | Haddonfield

Mooney was a model of consistency for Haddonfield as a sophomore. He was not asked to take on an extended scoring role but this did not stop him from being a 10 point scorer. Mooney knocked down 24 three’s and got to the free throw line effectively. His numbers will skyrocket as a junior when he gets an extended role.

[player_tooltip player_id="931023" first="Mekhi" last="Gibson"] | Ewing

Gibson is a incredible athlete. He is a standout on the football field as well as the track. In the winter, he can be seen running the show for Ewing. He scored a season-high 21 points in a game against Allentown, and he did most of his work inside. Gibson is a versatile scorer that thrives in the lane for some easy baskets.
