The class of 2021 is deep and talented. There are a lot of very skilled floor generals that can be found. Let's break the point guard's down even farther and look at "basketball IQ". I'll give you a list of 10 lead guards from Michigan's class of 2021 that I believe have this tool on their belt.

[player_tooltip player_id="814584" first="Deon" last="Hayes"] (PG, North Farmington)

Hayes has all the physical tools, but also has the mental toughness to be great as well. He isn't afraid of a challenge and his teammates will follow that.

[player_tooltip player_id="611485" first="Linden" last="Holder"] (PG, Warren De La Salle)

Holder has the ability to see what his team needs. He has shown the ability to read the game and be able to be a score first or pass first point guard.

[player_tooltip player_id="969519" first="Mike" last="Holdsclaw"] (PG, Riverview Gabriel Richard)

Holdsclaw will be a nice add for a school at the next level, and his basketball IQ is a big part of that. He recognizes what his teammates do well and puts them in position to succeed.

[player_tooltip player_id="969533" first="Jason" last="Jergens"] (PG, Marcellus Howardsville Christian)

Jergens has such a natural feel for the game. He earned that feel though, through relentless training in the gym. Jergens has great shot selection and is incredibly efficient.

[player_tooltip player_id="960318" first="Christian" last="Johnson"] (PG, L'Anse Creuse North)

Johnson is a must see prospect for college coaches. He is completely equipped to be great at the next level. Johnson is so smart with the ball and he keeps mental mistakes to a bare minimum.

[player_tooltip player_id="811100" first="Blake" last="Lund"] (CG, Linden)

Lund is the type of perimeter player that every coach wants. He's a leader that always finds a way to influence a game. You can see Lund effortlessly think through the game on every possession.

[player_tooltip player_id="814606" first="Trevor" last="Smith"] (PG, Stoney Creek)

Does [player_tooltip player_id="814606" first="Trevor" last="Smith"] ever not play well? Of course he does, but his bball IQ allows him to hide it. Smith finds what's working on any given night and rolls with it.

[player_tooltip player_id="811134" first="Bryan" last="Tyler"] (PG, Romulus)

Tyler's basketball IQ allows him to see the floor, find his teammates, and figure out the best way to get them the ball. He's one of the best pure passers in the class of 2021.

[player_tooltip player_id="814601" first="Sam" last="Versteeg"] (PG, Grand Rapids Christian)

Versteeg is super slippery and quick with the ball. He utilizes his speed in change of direction to keep defenders spinning. Versteeg always seems to make the right pass at the right time.

[player_tooltip player_id="811105" first="Marcus" last="Wourmann"] (PG, East Lansing)

Wourmann is underrated, let's start there. If the game is on the line and we have 1 possession, I want a big play floor leader like him. Wourmann simply knows what to do when a big bucket is needed.
