Some preps from the 2020 class are still in search of where they will play next year and beyond. Even though this was not a heavy week of signings and commitments, there were a host of players who made decisions about their future. We will take a look at who made their decisions and where they will be headed.

NAIA Division I Signings

NAIA Division I saw two of the better shooters in the 2020 class sign with their schools.  Eric Speed from the 5A state champion Alexandria (ASH) Trojans signed to play in the Red River Athletic Conference with Texas A&M-Texarkana.  At 6’3", Speed will provide good size at the two guard for Coach Ryan Wall.  Milan Mejia Milan Mejia Milan Mejia 6'2" | SG UHigh | 2020 State LA of University Lab inked his letter with Loyola-New Orleans of the Southern States Athletic Conference.  The 6’2", Division II runner-up will add his shooting prowess to a potent Wolfpack offense.  Both players should make an impact on their new programs.

Prep School Commitments

Prep schools have been an interesting alternative for preps during the time the country was closed due to coronavirus.  Five notable preps from across the state decided to take the prep school route to enhance their skill set before moving to the college level.

Terrian Roy Terrian Roy Terrian Roy 6'2" | CG Ville Platte | 2020 State LA (6’2") of Breaux Bridge will play next season at Florida Coastal Prep in Fort Walton, Florida.  Core 4 Prep is the spot that took the most committments .  A total of four players signed for a prep year in Georgia at the school started by NBA player and Louisiana native Paul Milsaps.  The biggest named preps were Elijah Tate Elijah Tate 6'3" | SF Madison Prep | 2020 State LA (6’3"/Madison Prep) and Darrell Washington Darrell Washington 6'8" | C LaGrange | 2020 State LA (6’9"/Lagrange).  Each one decommitted from their initial college choice (UL-Monroe and Angelina respectively) to attend.  Other commitments to Core 4 came from north Louisiana in Matt Hayman (6’4"/Ouachita) and Jayshun Miller Jayshun Miller 6'0" | CG Homer | 2020 State LA (6’0"/Homer).

As other preps are still trying to make their decisions on a college, a junior college, or a prep school to make their home, Prep Hoops LA will keep everyone abreast of their decisions.
