As we move right up the South Florida coast, I would like to next highlight players in Palm Beach County. In my opinion, this area is underrated in basketball talent. This past season, a tremendous run by Boca-St.Andrew’s gave the region a well deserved boost. Regardless, the PBC area is rich in prospects. In continuing the tradition, here is my follow-up piece to the county original.

Let’s look at list 2.0.

Jonathan Joseph - The King’s Academy Lions

2021 combo guard Jonathan Joseph helped King’s Academy to its best record since 2001 after averaging 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and two seals per game. Against The Benjamin School, the 6-foot-1 Joseph exploded for a 30-point effort in the district playoffs. JJ’s combination of ball handling, court vision, unselfishness, perimeter shooting, and finishing skills allow him to play off the ball or run the point for the Lions. With a high level IQ, Joseph acts as a second coach on the floor and is a team motivator. In the classroom, the rising senior holds a 3.5 GPA. In a competitive district with state champion St. Andrew’s, Joseph landed on the (1A-4A) first team. With its entire back-court returning, the Lions have a tremendous opportunity to eclipse its 17-win total with Joseph leading the charge.
[player_tooltip player_id="829401" first="Mark" last="Cueto"] - The Benjamin School Buccaneers

In Palm Beach Gardens, Cueto turned heads after averaging 15.1 points and 6.8 rebounds a season ago. The dynamic 2022 reach double-figures 18 times and scored a season-high 22-points against Jensen Beach. At 6-foot-3, Cueto posses good size and can handle himself down low. In 12 games for the Buccaneers, Cueto recorded seven or more rebounds. As with his skill on the court, Cueto doubles as an athletic wide-receiver/safety on the football team.
Tristan Gee - Trinity Christian Academy Warriors

Over in Lake Worth, Gee averaged 17.9 points and 9.5 rebounds for the Warriors. The 6-foot-5 2021 is a strong presence in the front-court and shot an efficient 55% from the field. Against Glades Day, Gee erupted for a season-high 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. On the glass, the Warriors powerhouse recorded 13 games with ten or more boards. In addition, Gee has tremendous athleticism to block shots. Against David Posnack Jewish Day, Gee rejected six of them.

[player_tooltip player_id="818946" first="RJ" last="Morris"] - Jupiter Christian Eagles

2021 [player_tooltip player_id="818946" first="RJ" last="Morris"] returns as the Eagles leading scorer after averaging 15.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Against The Benjamin School, Morris scored a season-high 25 points. A threat from the outside, the 6-foot-2 Morris knocked down four or more 3-pointers five times. Comfortably, Morris fits as a two or a three in most systems. In addition, he has a sneaky ability to contribute around the glass.
[player_tooltip player_id="953502" first="Bob" last="Stewart"] - Boca Raton Bobcats

An imposing center at 6-foot-8 and 235 pounds, Stewart averaged 14.6 points and 8.0 rebounds for the Bobcats. Against North Broward Prep, the 2021 Stewart scored 24 points and pulled down 13 rebounds (eight offensive). The rising senior grabbed 10 or more rebounds in seven games and is one of the best post players in the county. At his size, Stewart is also an excellent passer with four games of four assists. If he can continue to work on his finishing, Stewart can really explode as he ponders his college future. Can Stewart follow in the footsteps of [player_tooltip player_id="827884" first="Yussif" last="Basa-Ama"]? I am eager to witness his senior season to find out. For now, check out some of his highlights here.
