Over the last few weeks, the Prep Hoops SoCal staff has broken down each ranking update with in-depth pieces on the top players by position, by class and covered sleepers and players to watch across the vast SoCal area. In our latests rankings coverage, we wanted to regionalize the lists a little more, starting with Orange County and the top five players in the area.

1. [player_tooltip player_id="680195" first="Wilhelm" last="Breidenbach"], 2021, Mater Dei - As is most often in Orange County, the Monarchs have a wealth of talent at their disposal and recent years are no different. Breidenbach is the third-ranked player in all of SoCal and the top Orange County prospect as [player_tooltip player_id="680196" first="Devin" last="Askew"] reclassified to the 2020 class. The 6-foot-9 forward is as skilled and high motor as they come at the position.

2. Tajavis Miller, 2022, Servite - Miller falls under the category as a do-it-all type of prospect at the point guard position. The 6-foot-3 sophomore is not only strong and physical on drives, but he's shown flashes of being able to create shots for himself and teammates as a playmaker and floor general. Miller has a bright future as a two-way player at the Division 1 level.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="680209" first="Harrison" last="Hornery"], 2021, Mater Dei - Hornery joins front-court mate Breidenbach atop the list because what he brings to the table is difficult to guard at the high school level and will translate well to the college level. The 6-foot-9 USC-commit is your prototypical stretch four with a smooth three-point shooter with a high release point.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="680210" first="Houston" last="Mallette"], 2021, Pacifica Christian/OC - Mallette recently committed to Penn State and the Nittany Lion are getting a hardworking leader who can fill up the scoring column in a hurry. The 6-foot-3 rising senior is a top two point guard in Orange County who has led the Tritons to a 46-17 overall record since arriving on campus his sophomore year.

5. [player_tooltip player_id="747083" first="Nick" last="Davidson"], 2021, Mater Dei - The third Monarchs’ senior-to-be to crack this list, Davidson is a skilled 6-foot-8 forward who can score inside and out. He’s being recruited heavily at the mid-major level and should provide versatility at his position with whichever program he ends up choosing.
