Although it’s a bit early to look at next season, we want to take a look at a few prospects that we feel will have a chance to raise their stock to the next level . Listed below are a few of the players that coaches and media should keep an eye on.

Word of God Junior Wing [player_tooltip player_id="833132" first="Saiquone" last="Harris"]: This season was a good opportunity for him to show some of the things he can do on the court while playing a national schedule. He’s a 6’7 wing, that can slash to the basket to use his athleticism or knock down shots from deep off the catch.

Wilson Prep Junior Wing Nasir Blackston: Teams in the NCHSAA 1A division should be on the lookout for Wilson Prep as they will have all the pieces needed to make a deep state title run. Nasir is one of those pieces as he brings numerous attributes to the team including his versatility and ability to score. There hasn’t been a ton of buzz about him recruitment wise but we fully expect that to change sooner than later.

Cleveland HS Junior Guard [player_tooltip player_id="838076" first="Walter" last="Ghaffar"]: In his first season at Cleveland HS he was a huge piece for the team averaging just under 13 points per contest. He’s a player that makes an impact on both ends of the floor but especially offensively with his ability to score on multiple levels.

East Wake Junior Guard Zach Sloan: Last season he suffered an injury that kept him out for the season but we truly feel he will be back and just as gifted as he was prior to the injury. One of the attributes that we really like about his game is the ability he has to score the ball. Once he gets it going offensively, he can be a valuable asset for a team as well as being a difficult player to defend.

Pine Forest HS Freshman Wing [player_tooltip player_id="854901" first="Jordan" last="Jones"]: His stats from this past season won’t scream at you but we fully expect him to take the next step production wise next year. At about 6’5 with plenty of upside, he rebounds the ball well and has the tools to be a special defender.
