Coaches are always searching for that Diamond in the Rough. Well, let me make it easy for you, here’s the list of the 15 players that are relative unknowns, but have the potential to be stars at the right program.

[player_tooltip player_id="987153" first="Chris" last="Dockery"] 6’5 SF Bonanza 2021 - We’ve talked quite a bit about Dockery recently. Suffered leg injury, missed season, got it. When healthy he is a terrific two-way player that can defend multiple positions. He was already getting looked at by some D1’s, once he confirms he’s healthy, expect more schools to take notice.

[player_tooltip player_id="859646" first="Taviontae" last="Jackson"] 6’1 PG Las Vegas 2022 (#6PHN 2022) - Probably wouldn’t have been on this list if the Spring season wasn’t canceled. Good playmaker, scorer, and rebounder from the PG position.

[player_tooltip player_id="927120" first="Chancelor" last="Johnson"] 6’3 SG Desert Pines 2021 (#20PHN 2021) (featured image) - Another street cred guy, that passes the eye test. Johnson is a big strong accurate 3pt shooting specialist.

[player_tooltip player_id="927128" first="Coleman" last="Lemke"] 6’7 SF Faith Lutheran 2021 (#30PHN 2021) - Combines guard skills with forward size.

[player_tooltip player_id="927131" first="Matt" last="Morton"] 6’5 PF Boulder City 2021 (#34PHN 2021) - We can debate the Boulder City aspect later. Morton’s size, versatility, and production can’t be ignored.

[player_tooltip player_id="927127" first="Noah" last="Sherrard"] 5’11 PG Silverado (#29PHN 2021) - Impacts games with his ability to knock down open shots.

[player_tooltip player_id="799320" first="Semaj" last="Threats"] 5’9 PG Desert Pines 2021 (26PHN 2021) - Has a reputation around the city for being a gritty defender. Threats is a tempo changing PG that can provide instant offense off the bench.

[player_tooltip player_id="859662" first="Corbin" last="Dagons"] 6’5 PF Legacy 2022 (#24PHN 2022) - Jump on this kid now. Throwback player that does not participate on the AAU circuit. Dagons is a prototypical stretch 4 that is a deadly outside shooter.

Victavion Conway - Fox 6’6 PF Cheyenne 2021 (#48PHN 2021) - Long, fluid athlete that rebounds well, he would be a project, however, he does possess raw physical tools.

Diego White 6’9 Rancho 2021 - A two years away from being two years away type. Played sparing for Rancho last season, but can be a solid rim protector for someone.

[player_tooltip player_id="985585" first="Daiquan" last="Sykes"] 6’0 SG Sunrise Mountain - Dude balled out last season. Quick combo that finishes nicely around the rim with both hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="930659" first="Jake" last="Bevacqua"] 6’0 PG The Meadows School 2023 (#9PHN 2023) - Although he is highly regarded in our rankings, Bevacqua is virtually unknown around the city. He’s a high IQ PG that can be described as a winner.

Nakalaya Fabello 5’10 PG Valley 2023 - Fabello’s street cred comes from the numbers he put up for Valley last year. The freshmen led the team with over 12 per game.

[player_tooltip player_id="858173" first="Cimarron" last="Conriquez"] 6’1 SG Desert Pines 2021 (#38PHN 2021) - One of the best long-range shooters in the state on one of the best teams in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="928922" first="Sargent" last="Jeffery"] 6’5 PF Coronado 2022 (#21PHN 2022) - Jeffery is a strong athletic player that saw spot minutes for a talented Coronado squad last season.
