The 2021 class took a bit of a hit when [player_tooltip player_id="850500" first="Adama" last="Sanogo"] reclassified up, but it is still filled with talent. Rutgers Prep forward [player_tooltip player_id="850499" first="Trey" last="Patterson"] was one of the top players in the state all season long and will be leading the Argonauts again next season. Blair Academy’s duo of [player_tooltip player_id="850502" first="Jaylen" last="Blakes"] and [player_tooltip player_id="850503" first="Akoldah" last="Gak"] is one of New Jersey’s best, while Patrick School’s [player_tooltip player_id="850498" first="Jonathan" last="Kuminga"] is the top player in the class. They are not the only talented players in the 2021 class as it is filled with good players. Here are the top 2021 unranked playmakers.

[player_tooltip player_id="766077" first="Nate" last="Tabor"], 6’7 CG Olympus Prep

Tabor was originally part of the 2020 class, but he will do a post-grad season at Olympus Prep for 2020-21.The former St. John’s commit is a lengthy wing who knows how to attack the basket. Tabor is a confident shooter and is unafraid of pulling up in transition. He makes plays with the ball in his hands and uses his athleticism to finish above the rim. Tabor missed the 2019-20 season due to injury and is looking to have a bounce back with Olympus Prep.

Ethan Garita, 6’8 PF Princeton Day School

The Panthers had a solid season in 2019-20 behind Garita’s play down low. The athletic 6’8 forward has a nice touch around the basket and can finish above the rim. Garita has good footwork in the post and has good hands. He has a good handle and is working on his range. Princeton Day should have a good season in 2020-21 with Garita returning for his senior season.

Devin Benson, 6’0 SG Camden

It’s hard to get recognition on a team with Kentucky commit [player_tooltip player_id="766063" first="Lance" last="Ware"] and freshman sensation DJ Wagner on the team, but Benson deserves more praise. The 6’0 shooting guard provided the Panthers with a good shooter on the wing capable of knocking down three-pointers in bunches. Benson moves well off the ball and has a quick release on his shot. He plays with good instincts on the defensive end and is an underrated passer. The Panthers should be one of the teams to beat again in 2020-21 with Benson returning on the perimeter.

Jack Collins, 6’5 SG Manasquan

The Warriors return Shore Conference Player of the Year [player_tooltip player_id="901942" first="Ben" last="Roy"], but must replace graduating seniors [player_tooltip player_id="850360" first="Alex" last="Galvan"] and [player_tooltip player_id="896677" first="Kieran" last="Flanagan"]. Collins should get more opportunities on the wing as he was the team’s fourth leading scorer in 2019-20. The 6’5 guard moves well off the ball, has a quick release and shoots the ball with confidence on the perimeter. Collins is a solid defender and underrated passer. Manasquan should be in good hands next season with Roy and Collins in the backcourt.

Gannon Brady, 5’11 PG Ocean City

The Red Raiders had a solid 2019-20 season with a 17-10 record, but they should have an even better season next year with Brady returning at guard. He is capable of going for 20 points on any given night and is at his best attacking the basket. Brady has a good handle and is tough to keep out of the lane. He is more than just a slasher as he can makes opponents pay for giving him space on the perimeter. Ocean City has the capability to win over 20 games in 2020-21 with Brady returning to the backcourt.
