Austin Benigni Austin Benigni 5'10" | PG The Woodlands Christian | 2022 State TX 5’11” PG | 2022 | The Woodlands Christian Academy
Austin has a tremendous skill set. He can take his man off the dribble. Crafty finisher around the rim despite how big the defender may be. Shifty guard that makes plays for his teammates. A scrappy on-ball defender who gets after it on the defensive end as well. He can light up the scoreboard with the best of them and makes his teammates better. He currently has 1 NCAA D1 offer on the table, schools don’t be late to this party.
Bakari Lastrap 6’0” PG | 2020 | The Woodlands Christian Academy
Bakari had a really solid season as well for his high school squad. He is tough as nails and will dunk his opponent any chance that he is given. This athletic point guard is not just a floor leader that can shoot it but he is also a great distributor on the floor. He helped lead the Warriors to another TAPPS 4A State Championship Title, the second in three years. Bakari finished his senior season with these averages of 17.9 points per game, 3.8 assists per game, 5.6 rebounds per game, 2.2 steals per game, 0.3 blocks per game, and 1.6 turnovers per game. He currently has a couple of offers on the table 1-NCAA D1, 2-NCAA D2, and 4-JuCo deals. He plans on making his decision really soon.
Luke Mansfield 6’1” G | 2020 | The Woodlands Christian Academy
Luke was the glue guy for the Warriors this season. He was always in the right spots at the right times. He always seemed to make the right plays at the right times as well on both sides of the ball. He was a tough defender. He shoots the ball well. He does everything that the coach asks him to do and doesn’t try to play outside of his role. He is a hustle guy as well. He deserved this honor and could be a great puzzle piece for any USSCA or NCCAA school that is still looking.
Tucker Nooe Tucker Nooe 6'8" | PF State TX 6’8” PF | 2020 | The Woodlands Christian Academy [Air Force]
Tucker had the biggest growth from last season for all these prospects that are listed in this article. His game finally caught up with him and he dominated the entire season for the Warriors. He plays defense and can guard the 3-5 spots on the floor. He is active on the glass. He has a nice euro move that gets defenders every time and finishes it well around the rim and above the rim. He caught a couple of bodies this season. He can also stretch out the floor and shoot the ball very well in pick-n-pop situations or catch and shoot on the move on the perimeter. He had several offers but has committed/signed to attend the United States Air Force Academy where he will do one prep year with the Academy before going on to play NCAA D1 basketball for the Falcons.
Chanse Perkins 6’5” SF | 2022 | The Woodlands Christian Academy
Chanse is also starting to grow into his body as he is moving more fluently on the court. He is as strong as an ox for his size. He can play with his back to the basket as well as from the perimeter. His jump shot from the outside continues to improve and he is starting to take off more from the ground to dunk the ball. He has a great frame and plays with a solid motor on the court.
This is amazing that 5 players from the same team were awarded the honor of being selected by the TABC as All-State members. You can watch their State Championship game right here below.
