Signing Update: The Class of 2020

We are now ten days into the 2020 signing period and preps in the Boot have been making decisions on where they are going to take their talents. While the final day of the signing period is still months away, this article will update where some seniors are going and where some may land. DI & DII Commitments & Signees Three players from top Louisiana teams have signed Division I or II scholarships. Jaron Pierre of the Division I runner-ups St. Augustine committed to the Southern Mississippi Eagles. Scotlandville, the Division I champions had their second basketball signing when [player_tooltip player_id="530922" first="Carvell" last="Teasett"] signed his National Letter of Intent (NLI) with the Demons of Northwestern State. Lastly, the 4A champions from Peabody had one of their star seniors, [player_tooltip player_id="848244" first="Marcus" last="Jones"], commit to Texas A&M-Kingsville. It goes to show that the teams who played for state titles had some very talented players on their teams. NAIA Commitments & Signees The majority of the commitments and signings in Louisiana have been on the NAIA Division I level or the junior college ranks. LSU Alexandria has benefited greatly with three signings.
