Here’s a look at some of the guys to watch from Class B in 2020-2021:
Colton Konschak, Hatton/Northwood
Konschak was a key cog in Hatton/Northwood’s 21-win season, averaging 14.5 points per game. He’ll take on an even bigger role as a senior with the Thunder graduating several top ballhandlers. At 6-foot-4, Konschak is a tough matchup because he’s got the size to finish over the top of smaller defenders but also the skill and athleticism to get by people. Look for him to have a huge year next winter.
Alex Huber, Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier
Huber was the best player for EKM last year and led the Rebels to a Region 3 title. The 6-foot-4 forward is arguably the best player in Region 3 and has a chance to put up huge numbers as a senior, as he’ll be even more heavily featured in the offense next year. He’s an athletic kid who can finish at the rim, create his own shot in the mid and high post areas, rebound and defend at a high level.
Zach Hendrickson, Our Redeemer’s
Hendrickson’s been a top scorer for the Knights the last couple seasons and he’s got a shot to be one of the best players in Class B as an upperclassman. He’s a dynamic shooter from deep and has the athleticism to get to the paint and make plays. Our Redeemers is going to be one of the best teams in Class B next year and Hendrickson will be a household name.
Michael Dunn, St. John
It’s going to be the Michal Dunn show next year for the Woodchucks, as he’s the only returner who played regular minutes last season. The 6-foot-1 to-be senior averaged 14 points, four rebounds and three assists while shooting 46 percent from the field. He shot 60 percent from 2-point range but only 25 percent from the 3-point line. If he can get that perimeter shooting up a little bit, he’s got a shot at putting up some huge point totals next year.
Dawson Zuroff, Beulah
Zuroff was Beulah’s third-leading scorer as a junior after transferring over from Glen Ullin/Hebron where he was a key rotation piece as an underclassman. He’s got the length, athleticism, shooting ability and floor game to be a stat-sheet stuffer on a team that will be ranked in the top-five in the preseason. If he takes a step forward offensively, he’ll be an all-region player.
