Athletes, Athletes and Athletes...

South Florida has it all. While a blessing for scouts like myself, it can be a needle in a haystack for some of these kids to be noticed. Specifically, the Miami-Dade region is chalked filled with talent. Many of the players listed below have shown flashes and are ready to emerge in the region.

Let's take a look at the list:

Andruw Rondon - Delacruz - Mater Lakes Academy

The Bears are a team I have high expectations for an best assured Rondon-Delacruz will be a part of it. The 6’6" 2023 has solid size at the forward position and brings double-double potential onto the floor. In observations this season, Delacruz showed flashes to score away from the cylinder. Delacruz was put into the fire as a freshman and played valuable minutes that should only enhance his progression. The Bears have a pair of athletic guards in [player_tooltip player_id="709231" first="Anthony" last="Floyd"] and Jamai Tejada that should open up opportunities for Delacruz in the paint. Potentially, the trio can be a serious big three down in Hialeah.

Daniel Del Riesgo: Belen Jesuit

With the graduation of 2020 Josh Cecol, Del Riesgo has a chance to emerge as more of a focal point in the Wolverines front court. The 2021 averaged 7.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while helping Belen Jesuit to a 17-11 record. Del Riesgo is a stretch player capable of playing the four and five spots on the floor. With Daniel and David Fernandez, the Wolverines have a solid core to build around heading into 2021. I expect Del Riesgo to average around 12 points and eight rebounds per game as a versatile senior leader.

[player_tooltip player_id="953518" first="David" last="Pazo"]: Coral Park

While playing alongside 2020 [player_tooltip player_id="716946" first="Ga’Khari" last="Lacount"], Pazo showed he was a capable scorer as well for the Rams. The 2021 guard dropped 25 points against Terra Environmental and 15 points against Coral Gables back in November. Overall, Pazo scored in double-figures eleven times and finished second on the team with 9.7 points per game. Back in December, Pazo played especially well with a string of five consecutive double-digit scoring affairs. With Lacount off to Link Prep in Missouri, the 6’3" guard has a chance to really shine as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id="956773" first="Warner" last="Davis"]: Kilian

With a strong end to his season, Davis has breakout potential written all over him. The 2022 guard scored 29 points against Northwestern and 24 points against Jackson to earn that momentum. When the calendar year turned, Davis's threat to score seemed evermore noticeable and his confidence seemed to grow from it. Overall, he finished the year averaging 14.7 points per game. As a junior, I see Davis exploding into a 20-point scorer on any given night.

[player_tooltip player_id="955612" first="Brandon" last="Garcia"]: Brito

An all-around playmaker, Garcia posted 13.2 points and 8.2 assists for the Panthers this past season. The 2022 has impressive vision and will limit mistakes. Garcia reached double-digit assists eight times during the season and is the type of back court asset that will make your entire team better. To that point, Brito saw four players average in double-figures with his help. In addition, he is a underrated rebounder capable of collecting five to seven rebounds per game from the guard spot. Simply put, good things tend to happen with Garcia on the floor.
