Who were the top dozen player prospects at South Dakota’s Class B level this year? PHD gives your our 12 from the senior class today.
Chase Arend of Bridgewater-Emery (5’11 PG). Arend was an all around number producer recording 20.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and nearly four steals a game.
Jake Brooks of Howard (6’6 PF). DWU signed big that averaged 16.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this season leading Howard to a 16-5 year inside. (pictured above in the twitter photo from Howard Basketball)
Zech Clemens of Northwestern (6’4 SG). Clemens averaged 24.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, and three steals a game and next year he will play basketball at Northern State.
Noah Dickson of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (6’4 SF). Averaged a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds a game this season leading his team to a dozen wins.
Jade Mortenson of Faith (6’7 C). An emerging big that led Faith to the state tournament and 20 victories this season. More productive with each week.
Gavin Pankratz of Freeman Academy (6’7 PF). Gavin averaged 18.8 points and 9.3 rebounds this winter and will now take his ability to DWU where he signed this winter.
Andrew Rohrbach of Aberdeen Christian (6’0 PG). The second Northern State signed player on this list, Andrew averaged 19 points, eight boards, seven assists, and three assists a game this year.
Nick Sayler of White River (6’1 SF). Sayler led White River to an 18-3 year averaging 17 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and 2.5 assists per game. Has several football scholarship offers.
Reggie Slaba of Hanson (6’0 SG). Slaba pushed Hanson to an 18-3 year averaging 21.5 points per game. One of the most feared three-point shooters in the state hitting 3-4 a contest. Will run track at SDSU.
Casey Stegeman of Arlington (6’9 C). Teamed with Trey Ramstad to lead Arlington to a 19-2 season. Arlington was one of the elite shot blockers in South Dakota, he’s signed with Concordia University-Nebraska.
Dalton Voelker of Colman-Egan (6’5 PF). All state football and basketball player, this winter Dalton gave his team 22 points and 13 rebonds a game.
Nick Wittler of Sully Buttes (6’1 SG). A second DWU signed player on our list of a dozen, Nick pushed his team to an 18-2 record averaging nearly 24 points a game.
