There are still many talented players out there, so we’re going to do them in waves, with evals of five players at a time by each position. The first installment will be a group of available forwards in 2020. Here are the first five:
Garry Clark 6’7″ Cardinal Ritter: The versatile Stretch 4 was a big part of Ritter’s run to the Class 3 state championship. He averaged 14.1 points, 8.7 rebounds while shooting 52 percent from the field and 41 percent from 3-point range. He has good length and athleticism with the combination of low-post scoring skills and 3-point shooting ability off the pick and pop. He has a number of Division II schools expressing interest with a few Division I’s nibbling as well.

6’5″ Raytown South: The versatile combo forward was the leading scorer of a talented Raytown South team that advanced to the Final Four of the Class 4 state tournament. Cann averaged 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and two assists while making 44 3-pointers. He is a big matchup problem with his size, athleticism and ability to knock down 3-pointers. He is a solid athlete who can also put the ball on the floor and create offense off the dribble.
Blessin Kimble Blessin Kimble 6'5" | PF Charleston | 2020 State MO 6’6″ Charleston: An active power forward who led the Bluejays a runner-up finish in the Class 3 state tournament to follow up on last year’s third-place finish. Kimble averaged 14.7 points and 8.7 rebounds while shooting 57 percent from the field. He is a tireless worker around the basket who loves to chase down rebounds out of his area. He plays with a high motor and never takes a play off. He’s an ideal player to have because he can produce at the next level without having to be the focal point of the offense.
Brandon Ellington Brandon Ellington 6'6" | PF Cardinal Ritter | 2020 State MO 6’6″ Cardinal Ritter: An explosive power forward who helped the Lions to the Class 3 state championship. His combination of length and leaping ability made him one of the best power dunkers in the state. The long, lefty was also an effective offensive rebounder with good second-jump ability. He averaged 7.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.2 blocks whiule shooting 53 percent from the field. Many Division II programs like this bouncy athlete who does much of his damage around the basket.
Kam Hubbard 6’5″ McCluer: A hard-working, explosive power forward who plays the game with a high rate of activity. After missing much of his junior season with an injury, he came back strong as a senior to help the Comets to a conference championship. He played the game in attack mode as he loved to take the action to opposing defenders with his physicality and leaping ability. He averaged 10.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and two steals while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field. Many jucos are tracking this intriguing prospect with a big upside.
