With these, we want to highlight 3 players who are similar in class and position. Get some time to dive into some quick thoughts, stat breakdowns, and film. Today, we are looking at 2023 Posts in Dylan Derda, Isaiah Akinyele, and Xavier Booker Xavier Booker 6'11" | PF Cathedral | 2023 State #4 Nation IN .
Dylan Derda – 6’6 PF 2023 – Penn (IN)
Stats: N/A
Thoughts: Derda is a long and thin 2023 post. Has a pretty smooth jumper and loves to step out from behind the arc. Really mobile big that does a lot of things on offense. His long arms have helped him be an excellent rebounder and shot blocker. Type of player that should get better each year and start to fill out his body more. Once he adds strength, he is going to be tough to go up against. Interesting prospect going forward.
Isaiah Akinyele – 6’4 C 2023 – Merrillville (IN)
Stats: N/A
Thoughts: Akinyele is a true post big in every sense of the phrase. He is a big, stocky player with a smooth touch around the rim. Does a really good job in posting up his defender and demanding the ball. Pretty good footwork and can rebound the ball well for the most part. His next area of improving his game would be to focus on developing a jumper, just so he can open up his offensive arsenal. Solid big to watch for.

– 6’8 PF 2023 – Cathedral (IN)
Stats: N/A
Thoughts: Booker is a long, skinny PF that has a ton of upside. An extremely good shot blocker with a solid amount of strength already at such a young age. On offense he is very powerful and explosive. Has some good handles for a big as well and can really go in transition. He also has a really good jumper from mid-range all the way from behind the arc. Not a whole lot that Booker does wrong. Needs to continue to develop but he is already one of our top prospects for his class.
