3-Pack: 2021 Point Guards To Watch

<p>The change in the recruiting cycle is going to be a big change for everyone. Right as we thought we were going to be getting out on the road, we get shut down. So, in order to spend as much effort as we can in getting players seen, we are going to do what we call, 3-Packs. </p> <p>With these, we want to highlight 3 players who are similar in class and position. Get some time to dive into some quick thoughts, stat breakdowns, and film. Today, we are looking at 2021 Point Guards in [player_tooltip player_id="874163" first="Foster" last="Mefford"], <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="783164" first="Isaiah" last="Swope"]</strong>, and [player_tooltip player_id="963915" first="Xavier" last="Aponte"]. </p> <p style="text-align: center;"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yF6ynHvNn94" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p> <p><strong> [player_tooltip player_id="874163" first="Foster" last="Mefford"] – 5’11 PG 2021 – Southwestern (Hanover) (IN)</strong><br /> <strong>Stats</strong>: 21.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 6.0 apg<br /> <strong>Thoughts</strong>: Mefford is a tough player with a lot of creativity with the ball. His speed complements his ball handling skills very well. Pretty good shooter and could very well play a 2G at the next level. He’s good in the lane, able to shift his body and create separation. His tough mentality makes him a pretty soild defender. Looks as though he would prefer to drive rather than shoot right now. Has a ton of speed and quickness mixed with ball handling that can be pretty impressive. Really quick in transition and gets a bunch of buckets that way. Pretty solid shooter when given the opportunity, especially off the catch. Has a ton of skill ball handling wise. Swope has all the skill in the world. He is the type of guard who will play on or off the ball but you get him in the lineup because he could have an excellent scoring night. Pretty good on the drive too and gets to the rim solidly. Has a solid pull-up game as well. Even though he is on the smaller side, Aponte plays hard. Should be in for a great senior season.   </p>
