With the spring club and travel basketball seasons put on hold due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we wanted take some time to spotlight some of the area’s best unsigned seniors who have the ability to impact a college program at a variety of levels. Below are the first five seniors looking for a landing spot at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="745412" first="Adrian" last="McIntyre"], Saugus - If you’re a school in the market for a player who impacts the game in every statistical category, McIntyre is your guy. the 6-foot-2 combo guard earned himself a handful of triple doubles this season, a lot of those with the third category being the steals column. McIntyre has great anticipation skills when reading passes and shooting passing lanes and his ability to chance direction and contort his body on the break helps him finish much bigger than his size.

[player_tooltip player_id="745396" first="Austin" last="Cook"], Damien - There aren’t many players in SoCal who have as much high level high school experience than Cook. The 6-foot-5 wing was a four-year starter for the Spartans, amassing a 102-27 overall record during that time. Cook scored 1,471 points on his career and set a school record with 302 made three-pointers. The dead-eye shooter also made strides with his passing and finishing over the past two seasons of his prep career.

[player_tooltip player_id="749892" first="Jake" last="Hlywiak"], Valencia - Hlywiak is another knockdown three-point shooter who should find himself a nice landing spot at the next level. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard knocked down a school record 122 triples during his senior year, while averaging 22 points and hitting his deep balls at a 45 percent clip. The benefits Hlywiak can provide a college program go beyond his perimeter shooting ability as his work ethic and character are the makings of every program guy across the country.

[player_tooltip player_id="745406" first="Luke" last="Haupt"], St. Augustine - Haupt is a three-year varsity player who proved that he can win at the highest level of San Diego basketball year-in and year-out. The 6-foot-5 wing is the prototypical coach’s son, meaning he understands the intricacies of the game on both sides of the ball. Haupt can play a point-forward type of role with his ability to rebound, push the break and make the high IQ pass. He’s also a better athlete and finisher than he’s given credit for.

[player_tooltip player_id="939127" first="Malvin" last="Payero"], Valley Christian - Payero defines the term "floor general." The 6-foot point guard plays with a toughness and ferocity that were rarely matched at the high school level. Payero took the role as a team leader very seriously and not only led by example, but could also be seen pumping up his teammates before, during and after games. Payero thrived on the defensive end where his effort, fundamentals and strength made him one of the best on-ball defenders in the area.

[player_tooltip player_id="644893" first="Tyree" last="Campbell"], Etiwanda - Campbell is as versatile as they come at the high school level. At 6-foot-5 with smooth ball skills and some vertical pop in his legs, he played a variety of positions offensive and spent time guarding 1-5 as needed. Campbell has a consistent three-point stroke off the catch and showed he’s one of the better mid-range shooters in the area. Campbell is a pure two-way guy that can be an immediate impact guy at the next level.
