Small School Top 2021s of Northeast KS

<p>Small school juniors made some serious impact in Northeast Kansas this year.</p> <p>Here are the top 2021s of the area:</p> <p><strong>Cameron Beardsley, junior, Valley Heights:</strong></p> <p>The 6-foot-1 guard averaged 13.6 points, en route to first-team 2A all state honors. He came up big in the sub-state playoffs, knocking down 18 against both Horton and McLouth.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="889459" first="Zach" last="Bloch"], junior, Seabury:</strong></p> <p>The Seahawks have numerous juniors who could make this list. But the 6-foot-1 Bloch was named Wichita Eagle 2A Player of the Year because he gave the loaded Seahawks the ingredients they needed to win. Seabury finished 21-2 and seemingly had a different star every night. But Bloch’s final game demonstrates his talent: he shot 12-15 for 27 points against Valley Heights.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="730642" first="Tanner" last="Hecht"], junior, Wamego:</strong></p> <p>The 6-foot-5 Hecht averaged 15.2 points and 7.1 boards. He went down swinging, putting up 15 versus Mulvane in the sub-state loss.</p> <p><strong>Devan McEwen, junior, Lebo:</strong></p> <p>The first-team 1A guard averaged 19.6 points on the season. He gave it his best in the playoffs, putting up 19 against Colony Crest, 23 against Central Christian, and 14 in the state loss to South Central.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="889475" first="Dawson" last="Zenger"], junior, Rock Creek:</strong></p> <p>The 6-foot guard is a scoring machine. He averaged 19 points a game as a sophomore, so why not raise it to 25.5 as a junior? He went for 30 in a win over Santa Fe Trail at sub-state.
