Show Me Showdown: Class 3 All-Tournament Team

<p>The Cardinal Ritter Lions took the crown as Class 3 State Champions after steamrolling through the Show Me Showdown over the weekend. Not only did they prove to be the best Class 3 has to offer, you could make the argument that Ritter could compete with the best of the best in any classification. The athletic Lions played fast and aggressive, overwhelming the competition. They knocked off an excellent Blair Oaks team in the semi-final and followed that up with an historically dominant championship game victory over runner-up Charleston. Blair Oaks and Monroe City were awarded Co-3rd Place honors. There were still plenty of memorable performances throughout the weekend. Take a look at the Prep Hoops Class 3 All-Tournament Team from the Show Me Showdown:</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>Most Outstanding Player</strong></em></span>: <em>6’2 So Luther Burden | Cardinal Ritter</em></p> <p>Luther was far and away the most electric player in the gym over the weekend. His breakaway speed and quickness is incredible, and the fact that he is only a sophomore is scary. He is a tenacious on ball defender that came away with numerous open court steals that turned into coast to coast transition lay-ups. He was impossible to guard in Ritter’s spread attack offense, getting into the lane at will as a play-maker. In the semi-final against Blair Oaks, he finished with 16 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. In the title game, he poured in a game-high 18 points. On the weekend, he was 17/23 from the field. He also had one of the highlights of the weekend with an NBA Jam worthy dunk.
