<p><i>We have seen games slow down but one thing that’s kept on moving is the recruitment and commitment process for prospects. Let take a look at some of the latest recruitment news that’s taken place around the state</i>. </p> <p>One of the top unsigned Guards in the state came off the board Sunday as Pender HS Guard <b>[player_tooltip player_id="533411" first="Jajuan" last="Carr"]</b> committed to UNCW. His athleticism and scoring ability are both attributes that we feel should transition well to the next level and he will be close to home so Pender fans can definitely drop in and see him.</p> <p>Kinston HS Wing <b>[player_tooltip player_id="533510" first="Dontrez" last="Styles"]</b> picked up an offer from UNC on Monday evening. Styles is the top ranked player in the state for 2021 and is a national top 50 player as well. Don’t be surprised to see other blue blood programs jump aboard before much longer.</p> <p>Lees Mcrae picked up a commitment from one of the better Unsigned Forwards in the Fayetteville area in Fayetteville Christian Forward <b>[player_tooltip player_id="833300" first="Jaden" last="Scriven"]</b>. Scriven has a nice combination of skillset, strength and athleticism, with plenty of upside left in his game as well. He battled injuries throughout the season but still put up solid numbers overall.</p> <p>Piedmont Classical Unsigned Senior Guard <b>[player_tooltip player_id="833151" first="Trent" last="McIntyre"]</b> picked up an offer from UNCP this weekend, adding to the multiple D2 offers he holds. He’s a bigger guard at about 6’4 with the ability to facilitate but understands how to get his own buckets when he’s called on.</p> <p>Moravian Prep Unsigned Senior Guard <b>[player_tooltip player_id="833091" first="Jamahri" last="Harvey"]</b> continues to pick up offers with Southern Miss being the latest school to jump on board. Harvey has put together two big time seasons in his final two years of high school basketball which included a MVP caliber performance in the State Championship Rounds.</p> <p>Former Southern Wayne HS Standout Guard <b>Deandre Wright</b> will be headed to play at Johnston CCC this fall. A solid overall Guard with a nice combination of strength and speed, he should have a nice amount of success early on. </p> <p>Moravian Prep &amp; Former Winston Salem Prep Standout <b>Zackary Austin</b> recently made his commitment to High Point University, a program that is on the rise with plenty of young talent. A player that can be productive on the perimeter as well as above the rim, he will be a nice pickup for HPU as they needed to add some size with skill. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
