Our first graduating class was 2019, with five former Assault players going on to play college basketball. Five players of our 2020 class have signed to play college basketball in the NAIA & D2 divisions.
2020 Goals? Our goal is to compete at a very high level and gain exposure for our 15U team, who has several collegiate level players.
The Mission: Our mission each year is to focus a lot on player development and increase everyone’s basketball IQ. We also try to build character, a high work ethic, and accountability.
Why Prep Hoops: We chose the Prep Hoops Circuit again this year because last year we were treated very well and it was highly organized and competitive. At the end of the day, it’s about developing players and gaining exposure. Prep Hoops accomplished both of those last year for us.
Team Strengths: I feel this year we have more team strength than in the past. Our main strengths are going to be our intangibles. Our communication and team chemistry will be huge for us. We also have a lot of offensive firepower and a deep bench.
X-Factor Players:
| 6’4″ | F | Zack Mings | will bring a toughness to the team and a fantastic athletic skill set.
| 6’3″ | G | Luke Bushey | is very fundamentally sound and has a high basketball IQ.
Players to Watch: I feel like as deep as we are this is a tough question. We have five players starting varsity for their school teams as freshmen and all others have seen time on JV.
| 6’0″ | PG | Ahlante Askew | has a basketball IQ and skill set that is off the charts for is age. He’s a gym rat and has good range on his jumper.
| 5’11” | G | Wil Carlton | has had deep range for the past couple years. As a freshmen, he averaged 17 ppg at the Varsity level and scored 35 points for us a few times last year. He’s very aggressive and can score at all three levels.
| 6’7″ | C/F | Harrison Doennig | has a very high motor and is tough to keep off the boards. He had valuable time this year on a very stacked Springfield Kickapoo team. He can also step out and hit the outside shot. For his size, he is a great ball-handler.
| 5’10” | G | Trae Oetting | has elite speed and can finish against taller defenders and through heavy traffic. He’s an extremely coachable kid with a positive attitude.
Circuit Schedule: April 3-5 Prep Hoops Season Kickoff OKC, April 17-19 Prep Hoops Live Season Kickoff KC, May 22-24 Prep Hoops Show-Me Showdown St. Louis, July 17-19 Prep Hoops Finals Dallas,
