The state of Michigan is filled with a ton of good guard play but these five seniors stand out above the rest. In my opinion, [player_tooltip player_id="784993" first="Jalen" last="Terry"], [player_tooltip player_id="784994" first="Lorne" last="Bowman"], [player_tooltip player_id="531688" first="Ryan" last="Rollins"], [player_tooltip player_id="531692" first="Jarvis" last="Walker"], and [player_tooltip player_id="784999" first="Tyson" last="Acuff"] are the five best senior guards in the state. Terry and Bowman lead the way as they will be attending Oregon and Wisconsin, respectively. Rollins has committed to Toledo, while Walker and Acuff are also headed to mid-major programs.

1. [player_tooltip player_id="784993" first="Jalen" last="Terry"] (Flint Beecher High School): Terry is a 5’11” and 165-pound point guard who committed to Oregon on Jan. 18, 2020 after de-committing from Michigan State. He also had offers from DePaul and Iowa. Terry can be lethal in a screen-and-roll because of his ability to pass the ball in tight situations. His offensive game reminds me a lot of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and that’s why he’s the #3 ranked player in the state.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="784994" first="Lorne" last="Bowman"] (Saint Mary’s High School): Bowman committed to Wisconsin on Nov. 16, 2018 and has improved even more since then. The 6’2” point guard has a high level floater and can finish over and around bigger defenders. He should fit in with Wisconsin’s slower paced play style and in a few years, could fill the shoes of D’mitrik Trice. Bowman weighs 175 pounds and is the #4 ranked player in Michigan.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="531688" first="Ryan" last="Rollins"] (Dakota High School): Rollins is one of the players with the highest potential on this list. He is the #7 ranked player in Michigan but he has improved his ability to finish with both hands and could continue to climb. Rollins is 6’3” and 175 pounds and committed to play for the Toledo Rockets on Dec. 11, 2019. He could become an elite 3-point shooter in the next few years and he’ll have a chance to make a lot of noise in the MAC.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="531692" first="Jarvis" last="Walker"] (Muskegon High School): Walker is just behind Rollins as the #8 ranked player in the state but he too has a chance to be even better than that ranking. He drives to the rim relentlessly and once he’s in the paint, Walker has the ability to finish and pass in traffic. The 6’1” point guard announced via Twitter that he’d be heading to Purdue University Fort Wayne, turning down scholarship offers from Northern Illinois and Mississippi Valley State.

5. [player_tooltip player_id="784999" first="Tyson" last="Acuff"] (Cass Tech High School): Acuff is the only player on this list that isn’t ranked in the top-10 as he comes in at #12 in Michigan, but the 6’4” point guard has good size and length, and really showed his skill in transition as he compiled 29 points and 15 rebounds versus Saginaw earlier in the year. Acuff still needs to improve his outside shooting and off the ball defense but I think he can make an impact for Duquesne next year and beyond.
