Although the 2019-20 season ended before there was a chance to crown five champions, a new basketball season is bound to begin in the fall of 2020. And because so many household names will be graduating and moving on to college basketball, Prep Hoops Wisconsin lists five prospects who are ready to become stars next season:

[player_tooltip player_id="804895" first="Tyrese" last="Hunter"] -- Racine St. Catherines -- PG

Hunter is good enough to become one of the better prospects in the country. He won’t surpass [player_tooltip player_id="544570" first="Patrick" last="BaldwinJr."] as the top-ranked player in Wisconsin’s 2021 class, but he can certainly challenge for the number two spot.

Hunter’s combination of raw athleticism and skill is rare, especially at the high school level. He can consistently step outside and make threes, or he can drive right past his defender and throw down a dunk. Hunter can also effectively guard multiple positions.

As a junior, the point guard led St. Cats to 25-0 season while putting up 21.3 points per game. Expect Hunter to get even better as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id="879984" first="Drew" last="Biber"] -- Cedarburg -- SF

Biber had to carry Cedarburg on offense last season. Despite being forced to take most of the shots, the small forward still averaged 20.3 points per game on 48 percent shooting. He won’t have the same problem as a senior. [player_tooltip player_id="879982" first="Logan" last="Landers"], a top big man in the state, announced that he would be transferring to Cedarburg for his final high school basketball season. This addition will not only make the Bulldogs a threat, but it will also allow Biber to become a better overall player.

[player_tooltip player_id="865834" first="Amari" last="Jedkins"] -- Racine Case -- PF

Jedkins is a prospect that you need to keep an eye on. He only put up 8.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore, but his ceiling is incredibly high. The power forward uses his long arms to impact the game on offense and defense. Jedkins is a great rebounder, shot-blocker, and finisher around the rim. He won’t be relied on as a big-time scorer, that role belongs to JaKobe Thompson. However, Jedkins will fill up the stat sheet in just about every other category.

[player_tooltip player_id="727955" first="Jeffery" last="Brazziel"] -- SF

Brazziel dealt with some adversity last season. He was supposed to play his sophomore season with Milwaukee Madison, but he ended up transferring to Milwaukee Destiny and facing some eligibility issues. Once the small forward gets everything sorted out, he will return to the court as the top prospect in Wisconsin’s 2022 class.

Brazziel has all of the physical gifts that are required to be a superstar. Standing at 6-foot-5, he can use his frame to be a pest on defense and a dangerous weapon in transition. Brazziel is also rapidly improving as a jump-shooter.

He hasn’t made a choice about which school he wants to attend next year, but there will certainly be multiple programs that would welcome Brazziel with open arms.

[player_tooltip player_id="801139" first="Christopher" last="Morgan"] -- Kaukauna -- PG

As a sophomore, Morgan typically deferred to the seniority of [player_tooltip player_id="811019" first="Keaton" last="Ferris"] and Logan Jedwabny. That will change next year. Morgan will return to the Ghosts as the main guy in the backcourt next year. Because Ferris and Jedwabny had the ball in their hands a lot of the time in the 2019-20 season, Morgan didn’t truly get the opportunity to prove himself.

As a prospect who thrives as the main ballhandler, Morgan will now have the chance to truly show his immense talent. The 2022 point guard pairs his great dribbling and passing skills with proficient scoring ability.

Kaukauna has had a recent history of producing quality point guards. It is now Morgan’s turn to morph into the Ghosts’ next great PG.
