Davion Bradford–Dylan Branson (Mehlville): The 7’0″ Bradford and 6’5″ Branson have been teammates since their grade school days. They won a EYBL Peach Jam championship last summer with MoKan Elite and they led the Panthers to the Class 5 state quarterfinals last season. The Kansas State bound Bradford is currently averaging 14.5 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks a game while shooting 67 percent from the field. Branson averages a team-high 16.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.0 assists a game. The physical combo guard is one of the state’s best passers.
Evan Schneider–Jaylen Boyd (Ladue): As juniors in 2019, the 6’6″ Schneider and 6’1″ Boyd led the Rams to their first-ever appearance in the Final Four of the state tournament. They are the leaders on another excellent Rams team. Boyd is currently averaging 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.6 steals a game. He is a big-game performer who loves to make the clutch play in the big moments. Schneider is a physical post player who holds down the middle. He is averaging 10.9 points, 9.5 rebounds with 34 blocked shots and 59 percent shooting from the field.
Evan Worley–Ethan Worley (Hillsboro): This 2020 combo happen to be twins with Evan being a 6’7″ forward and Ethan being a 6’2″ guard. Ironically, their scoring averages are identical at 13.1 points a game. Evan also averages 8.2 rebounds and 3.4 blocks a game with an improved 3-point shot at 35 percent. Ethan is a solid combo guard who averages four assists and two steals while also shooting 39 percent from 3-point range and 75 percent from the free throw line.
Tarris Reed, Jr.- Damien Mayo (Chaminade) – This 2022 tandem will be on this list for quite some time as they are already impact players as youngsters for a top program such as Chaminade. The 6’8″ Reed is a young beast in the post who averages 14.8 points and six rebounds a game with the ability to make 3-pointers and block shots. The 6’2″ Mayo is an athletic wing player who is averaging 12.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists a game. He can attack the basket and knock down 3-pointers.
Harrison Wilmsen-Charlie Ferrick (Priory): This talented duo led the Rebels to a Metro League title last season and a 15-5 record this year. The 6’2″ Ferrick is a 2020 guard who is averaging 13.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists while shooting 40 percent from 3-point range. The 6’8″ Wilmsen is an emerging 2021 forward who is currently averaging 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds while shooting 57 percent from the field. He can score anywhere from 15 feet in and he runs the court very well.
Jalen Hampton-Larry Abbey (University City): An exciting young duo that has led a rebirth of the University City program. The 6’5″ Hampton is a 2021 jumping jack who is averaging 16.8 points and 8.3 rebounds a game. He plays above the rim and has many rim-rattling dunks this season. Many of those dunks have come off the passes from the 5’9″ Abbey, a talented 2022 point guard who is averaging 10.3 points and nearly eight assists a game while shooting 40 percent from 3-point range.
Brennan Orf-Casen Lawrence (Westminster): This duo has led the Wildcats to a 17-3 record and a share of the Metro League lead. The 6’3″ Orf is a baseball player headed to Missouri State, but he’s also a roughrider on the basketball court as he is averaging 16.5 points and eight rebounds a game. He is tough to handle around the basket. The 5’10” Lawrence is a smooth 2022 point guard who displays a lot of poise and moxie with his handles and shooting ability. He is averaging 10 points a game while shooting 40 percent from 3-point range.
Karl Moore-DeMarion Shanklin (Jennings): The 2021 duo will be together for another year as the Warriors continue to churn out excellent players. The 6’2″ Shanklin is a talented bucket-getter who is averaging 19 points a game. He has nice handles and the ability to score from three levels. The 6’6″ Moore is a beast around the basket on both ends of the court. He is averaging a double-double at 10.9 points and 10 rebounds a game, but he is also one of the best shot blockers in the state with nearly eight swats per game.
