Elijah Jackson Elijah Jackson 6'0" | PG Churchill County | 2020 State NV 5’10 PG Churchill County 2020 (#28PHN 2020) – Jackson had himself a day. For the second time in his career, he hit a once in a lifetime shot. The final 3 points of his magnificent 21 point performance was a fallaway NBA 3 to secure the title. Jackson went from being a star player at Churchill County to the #1 play on Sportscenter. He has the clutch gene in spades and because of that the Greenwave are back to back state champions.
Treven Wachsmuth 6’3 SG Mineral County 2020 (featured image) – Wachsmuth was a flamethrower. He hit several big shots for MC. The SG has terrific size for a 1A player at that position. He is a scrappy defender that doubles as a 3 point marksman. His 21 points paced the Serpents to the crown.
Seth Bozzi 6’5 PF Mineral County 2020 – Bozzi defended and rebounded at a high level. He is the QB on the football team and a leader on the basketball team. He was the clear dominating force down low, so much so that Pahranagat rarely tried to enter the ball into the post. He finished with 15 points on the night.
Michael Klekas Michael Klekas 6'3" | SF Elko | 2022 State NV 6’3 SF Elko 2022 (#10PHN 2022) – Despite the loss, Klekas showed why he is one of the top players in the c/o 2022. He hit big shot after big shot to keep his team in the game. Elko is probably kicking itself for not getting him a touch on the final play of regulation. Klekas shot the 3 and scored off post-ups to finish with 20 in the loss.
Preston Higbee 5’11 PG Pahranagat Valley 2020 – Higbee is a heady PG that helped keep the Panthers in the game. He handled the ball, and defended his position well. His 11 points paced his squad on the day.
Noah Taitz Noah Taitz 6'3" | SG Bishop Gorman | 2020 State #100 Nation NV 6’3 SG Bishop Gorman 2020 (#3PHN 2020) – It was great seeing Taitz. Despite being out for most of the season, the sharpshooting guard showed why he is one of the top players in the nation. He showed no signs of rust in the Championship game, burying 3 3’s and finishing with 13 points as BG took home its 9th consecutive state crown.
