Pike wins close one.
Last night saw Pike beat Warren Central by just 2 points, 53-51. It seems as though Warren Central has not regrouped since their loss to Lawrence North and have since been on a 3-game losing streak. This was a first round game of the Marion County Tournament and the leading scorer for the Red Devils was 2022 PG Ryan Conwell with 15 points. 2021 PG Malik Stanley was the outright leading scorer of the night with 32 points.
Indian Creek grows winning-streak to 10
The Braves of Indian Creek were able to keep their winning-streak alive as they defeated Whiteland last night, 74-60. Creek is arguably the hottest team in 3A with the roll they have been on since their loss to 4A Franklin in week 1. The Braves are being led this season by 2021 prospect’s Mason Britt and Ethan Williams. With that win, Indian Creek will face Center Grove in the second round of the Johnson County Tournament.
Homestead beats Blackhawk Christian
In a game where lots of D1 college coaches were looking at some of Indiana’s top prospects, 4A Homestead defeated 2A Blackhawk Christian, 69-55. Even though the score might say otherwise, this was said to be an excellent game. There were two main prospects that each coach was looking at and they were Homestead’s Luke Goode and Blackhawk’s Caleb Furst, both 2021 forwards. Not extremely surprising that a 4A beat a 2A but it was a game where great players were showcased. Goode ended up with 19 points while Furst dropped 25 points.
