One of the craftiest players we have seen in recent memory and consistently produces both in the stats along with wins. He led his team over the holidays to the championship game at the Wheeling Hardwood Classic. We spoke with him about the season so far.
“It is going pretty well. We are got off to a hot start. We have been playing better every game. We have a lot to improve on, but I think we will be ready for March.”
Martinelli talked about his season individually.
“I think I am playing pretty well. There are obviously things I can improve on. I haven’t been shooting as good as I hoped. I have been working a lot so hopefully I will keep putting up numbers.”
He had one of the epic performances of the season to date dropping 51 points.
“They were a great scoring team so we needed to score a lot. I was getting great passes from my teammates and hitting open shots.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“I have been getting a lot more interest from D1 and D2 programs. Northern Michigan. I visited St. Thomas. Davidson, Brown, and Dartmouth have talked to me. It is starting to pick up.”
Northern Michigan extended his first offer after the Wheeling Hardwood Classic. Martinelli ran with All-In Athletics on the travel team circuit.
