Drenin Dinkins 5’10” South Iron: The dynamic 2022 point guard scored a game-high 25 points in leading the Panthers to the victory in the championship game. He is a stellar offensive player with deep shooting range and the ability to create his own shot off the dribble at any time. His cross-overs and step-backs are excellent and he can also get to the basket and score in traffic.
Brock Wakefield 6’3″ South Iron: The 2021 wing scored 24 points in the championship game while displaying his three-level scoring ability. His shooting range extends well beyond the 3-point line, but he can also create offense off the bounce with ease. He is just as comfortable going left as he his going right and his mid range game is excellent. He had many iso plays called for him and he delivered buckets in the lane, from the mid-range and from 3-point territory.
Breven McMullen 6’5″ Park Hills Central: The versatile 2020 wing scored 20 points in the championship game. He is a strong kid who has transitioned to the wing from a young power forward as a freshman. He scored on some tough takes from the high post as he had defenders draped around him all night. He also stepped out and knocked down some deep corner 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. He will doing a year of prep school at Link Year next season.
Evan Worley 6’7″ Hillsboro: The 2020 forward scored 21 points to lead the Hawks to a victory over North County in the third-place game. He was very active and athletic around the basket and he scored on several put backs and he also ran the court well. He has a good touch around the basket and he can also step out and hit a 3-pointer off the pick and pop, which is something he has developed over the summer.
Karter Kekec 6’0″ North County: The 2021 guard scored 24 points in the third-place game against Hillsboro. He is an aggressive offensive player and a very resourceful scorer. He has a nice mid-range jumper where he can get to his spot and elevate over defenders. He loves to attack the basket and draw fouls and get And 1s, but his jumper his good enough to keep defenders honest.
Mason Williams 5’10” Park Hills Central: The 2023 point guard had a very nice showing in his first championship game experience at the Christmas Tournament. He scored 13 points, but he got his team going with nine points in the first half. He has good speed and quickness and displayed it in the open court. He had some nice takes to the basket and he also picked up a couple of steals by darting into the passing lanes. The youngster has a bright future.
