Rankings are a huge part of all sports at all levels. Why not join in the fun? This is my top 10 regardless of class.

* This isn't a state champion prediction. It's just 1 guy's opinion on 1 given day. I'm anxious to hear people's opinions!

Knocking On The Door

Ann Arbor Huron

Detroit Cass Tech

Detroit King

East Lansing

Hudsonville

Muskegon

Williamston

Number 10

Grand Rapids Catholic Central (Division 2)

Grand Rapids Catholic Central could very easily argue for a higher ranking. Their lone loss was to number 5 Grand Rapids Christian and they have a top 10 win over River Rouge. Devon Boyd (2020, G) and Mykel Bingham (2020, F) are leading the way.

Number 9

Flint Beecher (Division 3)

Beecher has 3 dynamic stars in their backcourt. Jalen Terry (2020, G), Ernie Sanders (2020, SG), and Keyon Menifield (2021, G) make up a dynamic backcourt. They are all explosive playmakers with elite handles.

Number 8

Benton Harbor (Division 2)

Any team that has Scooby Johnson (2020, SF) is a threat. Benton Harbor has somehow flown a bit under the radar this season, but with their superstar and plethora of backcourt and wing talent, they're a contender.

Number 7

Detroit Frederick Douglass (Division 2)

Frederick Douglass is led by one of the state's top players, Pierre Brooks II. They have additional talent all over the floor. Donivan Peoples (2020, G) and Zavion McClendon (2020, G) are star caliber players in their own right.

Number 6

Grand Blanc (Division 1)

Grand Blanc just lost to Warren Mott last night. Not much can be taken away from them since they played without sophomore stud Ty Rodgers (2022, SF). Grand Blanc is loaded with next level talent like Mark Miller (2020, G).

Number 5

Grand Rapids Christian (Division 2)

Grand Rapids Christian is 6-0 and trending up as a state championship contender. Kobe Bufkin (2021, G) is a top 100 recruit in the country and is the head of the snake at Grand Rapids Christian. The supporting cast has really stepped up as well.

Number 4

River Rouge (Division 1

To be the champs, you have to beat the champs. River Rouge has done that twice, beating Ypsilanti-Lincoln last year and again this year. They are led by versatile forward Legend Geeter (2021, F). While they lost many key players from last year, they've been restocked with high level talent.

Number 3

Ypsilanti-Lincoln (Division 1)

Ypsilanti-Lincoln has a bunch of new pieces and have only played 4 games. As newcomers like Simon Wheeler (2021, PG) continue to mesh with superstar Emoni Bates (2022, G/F), the Railsplitters will be among the best in the state.

Number 2

Clarkston (Division 1)

Clarkston has been playing very well as of late. Matt Nicholson (2020, C) has established himself as the premier post player in Michigan and a Mr. Basketball candidate. Fletcher Loyer (2022, G) and Keegan Waslik (2021, G) have become an elite and dynamic young backcourt.

Number 1

Orchard Lake St. Mary's

This comes as no shock. With Lorne Bowman (2020, PG) and Julian Roper (2021, G) leading the way, the sky is the limit. They have talent and depth at seemingly every position. Kareem Rozier (2022, PG) has become recognized as one of the grittiest stars in Michigan.
