5. Pueblo West
Pueblo West has four losses but they are all to very good teams and they have beat a fare amount of good teams. Their senior duo, Taylor Harris and Jimmy Wardle, are leading this team to victory both averaging above 13 points per game. This team has to go through all of the tough Pueblo teams before playoffs start, not any super tough match ups this week but definitely a team to watch.
4. Northfield
Northfield is having a phenomenal season only losing 3 games in their second varsity season. This team has two solid bigs in Nsyah Bolar and Bally Diakite. They also have solid senior guard play with Diego Dominguez and Rasheik Gaddis. This team has a huge game coming up this week when they play the talented George Washington team.
3. Longmont
Longmont had a rough start to the season but has come out strong after the first two losses, of course this is not what we consider a rough start for many teams but, Longmont has been in a habit of not losing in the regular season. Leading the team is 6’8 athlete Eddie Kurjak who has been high flying on fast breaks. Then they have two seniors Dallas Dye and Ryan Schneider who are each adding over 10 points a game. They do not have any huge match ups this week, but have some big games coming up later in the season.
2. Mead
Mead’s coming off some big wins against Erie and Holy Family. This team makes a convincing case for being the deepest team in 4A. They have height in our number two sophomore, James “JP” Shiers, who is 6’10 which allows him to take control of the paint. Then they have guys who can shoot from the perimeter, Elijah Knudsen, Will Maeher, and Nick Jacobs. This team has some good match ups coming up when they play Windsor and Skyline.
1. Cheyenne Mountain
Cheyenne Mountain remains one of the few undefeated teams in the state. New Mexico commit Javonte Johnson is putting up a double-double averaging a monster stat line of 30.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. These stats have him as the top scorer in the state. His teammate Jadon Harrison has stepped recently putting up 12.8 points in the last four games. This week they have some challenges against Lewis-Palmer and Vista Ridge.
