5. DSST: Byers
DSST: Byers is coming off of a big win beating a top 4A team, Golden. This team is being led by the senior duo of Kyrie Thomas and Elijah Thatch. Kyrie is averaging 23.7 points and 4.5 steals per game. Elijah is averaging 18.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3.3 steals per game. They do not have any challenges this week but some coming up later in the season.
4. Sterling
Sterling is coming off of a strong win against Eaton and a tough overtime loss to Resurrection Christian. Senior Axel Henry is leading the team in scoring with 18.4 points per game. They have one of the most impressive sophomores in the state Jackson Keil who is averaging 13.4 points and 3.3 assists per game. They have some decent challenges coming this week when they play Strasburg and Kent Denver.
3. Lutheran
Lutheran only has two losses on the season one coming from one of the top teams from Nevada and the other coming from the number one team in 3A, Resurrection Christian. This team is being led by one of the best underclassmen in the state, Baye Fall. He is having a crazy stat line of 21.1 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks per game, as a freshman! Then they have one of the top point guards in the class of 2021, Tommy Apodaca, who is averaging 7.6 assist per game. They do not have any big games this week.
2. The Vanguard School
The Vanguard School is coming off of a good win against a solid Lamar team. This team is being led by the number one player in the state Dominque Clifford. Clifford can do everything on the court, he is a true definition of a combo guard. This year he has the impressive stat line of 26.6 points, 5.5 assists, 13.8 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 3.6 steals per game. This team does not have any challenges this week but some coming before the season ends.
1. Resurrection Christian
Resurrection Christian is coming off of a good overtime win against Sterling. Their senior duo Reece Johnson and Isaac Jessup are both putting up over 16 points a game and bring good size at the wing both standing at 6’3. They also have senior point guard who has stepped up, Jackson Ramero, he is averaging 10.8 points and 5.2 assits per game. Still remaining one of the only undefeated teams in the state is why they have earned this spot at number 1.
