College coaches aren’t always looking for players that can score the most points or players that have the most rebounds. They’re looking for talent that can translate at the next level.
6’5 PG/G Stone Hutchings (Copper Hills High School)
Stone is one of the bigger point guards that can move over to the 2 at the next level. With his size and versatility he is a high level producer. He is a strong 200 lbs. and is able to get boards and push the ball. It allows his teammates to get up the floor. He’s averaging 22 points and 6 rebounds a game. Stone gets to the basket with ease and he also shoots the ball well. He doesn’t need a lot of shots to put up good numbers.
6’4 PG/W Cameron Millican (Taylorsville High School)
Cameron is one of the most improved players we have seen from last year. He plays with so much confidence now. He guards 1-5 because he has to and he does a great job. He runs the point but he also post up smaller players as well. He flies by bigs with ease. Players have been defending him by going under screens or just playing off of him and he is hitting shots from deep. Cam is averaging 21 points and 5 rebounds a game heading into region.
6’7 Sam Phipps (Sky View High School)
Sam is often a big that gets overlooked because of his point guard. Sam can get up and down the court and he is dangerous because he can elevate above the rim with his athleticism. Sam is great around the rim and he is a high percentage finisher.Sam can be a 20 and 10 guy if he remains consistent and keeps his motor up.
6’9 C Zach Visentin (Springville High School)
Zach has been impressive on his high school team as he gets up and down the court well with his large frame. He attacks the rim and has soft hands. Zach has the potential to be a 25 and 15 type guy in high school. The Idaho State signee has a lot of raw talent that can be tapped into. He’s looked good this year.
6’1 PG Taft Mitchell (Orem High School)
Taft is an electric PG that has a knack for the ball. He has a great motor and runs a team well as he can push the tempo and slow down as well He is effective in both styles. Taft has been putting up big numbers all year as he can score, rebound and play defense.
6’3 F Justin Rodgers (Tooele High School)
Justin is a quality player especially as an undersized forward. He has a great feel for the ball and finds it as a double digit rebounder. Justin can defend multiple positions as he is working on becoming more of a wing. He is a solid player that can get a double – double a game.
6’4 Tyson Chow (Draper APA High School)
Tyson has 7 double-doubles this season. He has great size and in his classification he is a solid player and he has impressed with his consistency. While Tyson works on his outside shot he could improve his stock.
6’4 G Trevan Leondhart (Davis High School)
The Davis guard is coming into his own. He put up an amazing stat in his last game. 20,6,5,6 as he helped knock off the number 1 team in the state with hsi quality performance. The kid defends his tail off and is efficient on the offensive end.
6’6 Lyman Simmons (Snow Canyon High School)
One of the most impressive freshman we have seen this year. Lyman has great size and the ability to score at such a young age. He has a bright future ahead of himself. He rebounds and scores well. Lyman has time to improve his outside game.
6’2 SG Carson Butler (Copper Hills High School)
The Copper Hills SG is having a great junior year as he can hit 4 consistent three-pointers a game and not shoot at a high clip. He is helping Copper Hills get better each game. His shooting ability will get better with time.
