Prep Hoops Kansas released its most recently updated 2020 class rankings this week and the updated list features several players who have been mainstays in the rankings, as well as several players who have moved up the list.
Here Prep Hoops takes a look at several wings who have raised their profile and moved into the Prep Hoops rankings for the first time.
31 Austin Murrow, 6’5, G/F, 2020, Blue Valley Southwest
A dual-threat guard who has good size and feel for the perimeter but also the strength and physicality to play inside some. He can handle the ball well and can operate as a scoring guard or a slashing wing option. He sees time inside and he has the strength and build to handle himself and score through contact. An active player.
41 Kenyon Myers, 6’5, F, 2020, Leavenworth
A power forward style player for Leavenworth who has good speed and a lot of strength and the potential to transition into a wing-type player. Myers best attribute is his pogo-stick like athleticism. He is bouncy, is quick off the floor and uses his leaping ability at both ends of the floor. He is a scoring option in transition and can put himself in a position to score and score quickly. He has good size at 6’5, and shows good length and an ability to play in full court and half court settings. Myers shows an emerging outside shot and is comfortable knocking down mid-range shots.
50 Bryce Johnson, 6’5, G/F, 2020, Lawrence
A standout player who bring size strength and hustle to the floor. He can connect from distance and shows the ability to go inside and use his strong frame to overpower opponents. He is a good defender as well and looks to test shots and use his length and overall build to his advantage in the low post and high post.
85 CJ Horton, 6’6, G/F, 2020, Fort Scott
An athletic player who has great size and good speed. Horton can play some on the perimeter and looks to get physical inside. He looks to contest shots and can get rebounds on both sides of the floor. He has good good vertical quickness and long arms and strong hands. opponents have to keep an eye on him as he cleans up plays as well.
92 Max Defever, 6’4, F, 2020, Blue Valley Southwest
An active player on both sides of the floor, Defever has a good frame and solid footwork. Defever has strong hands and can outwork his opponents on both sides of the ball. He is an aggressive player and van find openings and score off the glass inside. He’s a strong defender and can move well off the ball.
