<p>The 34th Annual Pepsi Carolina Classic started today at the Florence Center. The Pepsi Carolina is a 8 team tournament sponsored by Pepsi and the Boys & Girls Club. The opening round action was a great start for the tournament. </p>
<p>Marion HS defeated Darlington HS 73-69 in the opening game of 34th Annual Pepsi Carolina Classic. <strong>TJ Sanders</strong> (2021) came up big for the Swamp Foxes with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Sanders in the process eclipsed the 1,000 points plateau in his high school career. <strong>AJ Vaught</strong> (2020) a left-handed point guard added 17 points and <strong>Mac Washington</strong> (2021) chipped in with 13 points. </p>
<p>The Darlington HS Falcons fall to (8-3) on the season. The Falcons were led in scoring by freshman<b> Deuce Hudson</b> with 15 points. <strong>Qua'liek Lewis</strong> chipped in with 12 points, <strong>Javorious Williams</strong> 12 points and <strong>Tre'Quan Scot</strong>t added 9 points. </p>
<p>South Florence HS beat Hartsville HS 45-43 to advance to the semifinals on Friday. The Bruins were led in scoring by <strong>Brian Sparks</strong> (2020) with 17 points and <strong>Justice Jackson</strong> (2020) added 13 points. The Bruins move to (5-5) on the season. </p>
<p>The Hartsville HS Red Foxes were paced by <strong>Cesare Edwards</strong> (2021) with 15 points and <strong>Jamari Briggs</strong> added 12 points. The Red Foxes fall to (4-6) on the year. </p>
<p>The 3rd game of the day featured the Lee Central HS Stallions vs Wilson HS Tigers. The Stallions a Class 2A school defeated the Tigers 49-45. The Stallions will now play in the semifinals vs Marion HS on Friday. <strong>DaVeon Thomas</strong> (2021) led the Stallions with 25 points while <strong>Lebron Thomas</strong> (2022) chipped in with 7 points. </p>
<p>The Wilson HS Tigers fall to (5-6) on the season. <strong>Najae Hines</strong> and <strong>Harrison Muldrow</strong> both scored 12 points for the Tigers. The Tigers will play arch rival Darlington HS in the consolation bracket on Friday. </p>
<p>North Augusta HS had no problems in the night cap with the West Florence HS Knights winning 54-26. The Yellow Jackets (4-7) will now play South Florence HS in the semifinals on Friday. <strong> Colin Rodrigues</strong> (2021) led the way for the Yellow Jackets with 17 points, <strong>Jordan Wilburn</strong> (2021) added 10 points. Senior <strong>Omarion Byrd</strong> was held scoreless in the game.</p>
<p>West Florence HS falls to (7-4) on the season.<strong> Shakeem White</strong> scored 9 points while <strong>Travis Cooper</strong> added 8 points in the lopsided loss. The Knights will now play Hartsville HS in the consolation bracket on Friday. </p>
