Here are some of the games to watch this week:
West Fargo Sheyenne at Grand Forks Red River, 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 10
West Fargo Sheyenne earned a hard-fought win over Mandan in its season opener and will get right back on the horse Tuesday when it travels to face Grand Forks Red River. The Roughriders won’t have Will Obioha, who will likely be out for at least a month with an injury, but they’ve still got enough pieces to hold the fort down. The point guard matchup between Brady Dvorak of Red River and Zion Dettman of Sheyenne should be a good one as those two guys are among the best at the position in the EDC. Bryce Enerson is a handful inside and Cole Benson will be a big key as he’ll likely spend a lot of the night checking either Blake Berg or Tyler Terhark.
Bismarck Century at Dickinson, 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 10
Bismarck Century lost to Fargo Davies in its season opener but the Patriots were without starting center Andrew Leingang, who is undoubtedly a difference-maker on the interior. If he plays, the matchup between him and Tallon Klatt could be a good one. The Midgets have the talent to compete towards the top of the WDA this year. The other big key matchup will be Cade Feeney of Century and Jaiden Wright of Dickinson. Both guys are among the best guards in the league.
Jamestown at Bismarck, 7:30 p.m., Friday, December 13
Jamestown made quick work of Valley City to start the season and Bismarck came out guns blazing in its season opening blowout win over Fargo North. The Demons knocked down 19 3-pointers on their way to a school-record 107 points. Max Tschosik scored 31 points and Gunner Swanson chipped in with 15 and 8 rebounds while Jamestown got 23 from Boden Skunberg and 21 from Carson Lamp. Jamestown is expected to be one of the best teams in the state, but Bismarck came into the year with a lot of questions. A win her would be quite the statement for the Demons.
