Here are this week’s games to watch:
West Fargo at Devils Lake, 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 3
A matchup between two of the second-tier teams in the EDC. West Fargo has taken losses to Grand Forks Red River and West Fargo Sheyenne early in the year but has the talent to contend for a top-three finish still. Devils Lake is off to a 3-2 start and faces Grand Forks Red River the night before. The matchup inside between Grant Nelson and Hunter Lyman could be a dandy.
Bismarck Legacy at Dickinson, 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 3
Two of the teams that aren’t traditionally at the top of the WDA square off in a game that could make a big difference in how the league standings align. Both teams are ranked in the top-10 and if Bismarck Legacy has its full team, this could be the best game of the week. Both teams have excellent duos leading the way as Dickinson has Jaiden Wright who is among the top-five scorers in the WDA and Kobe Krenz while the Sabers have Rhett Clements and Keagen Woodbury.
Jamestown at Bismarck Century, 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 3
Jamestown was knocked from the ranks of the undefeated last week but the Bluejays are still among the best teams in the state. Bismarck Century has battled inconsistency on offense but wins with tough defense. Jamestown has one of the most explosive offenses in the state but certainly can get gritty and win ugly too. Boden Skunberg and Cade Feeney are two of the best guards in the state. If those two guys spend time on each other, that’s a matchup to watch.
