Here is a look at the Prep Hoops Missouri’s Starting Five from the first round games, based on Monday’s performances.
Point Guard
Jaylen Boyd 6’1 Ladue: The 2020 standout had 16 points and 10 rebounds in a victory over Fort Zumwalt West. He controlled the action at both ends of the court. He got to the basket and finished at the rim with ease.
Wings
Roddy Alexander 5’11 Christian-O’Fallon: The speedy 2021 wing scored a game high 17 points in a victory over Clayton. When it comes to getting downhill on the dribble, few do it as well as Alexander, who stays in attack mode.
Landon Evans 6’4 Kirkwood. The hard working 2020 wing had one of the most productive outings of the day with 22 points and 17 rebounds in a 65-58 victory over Hancock. Evans seemed to be everywhere on the court as he scored on offensive rebounds, fast breaks and jumpers.
Forwards
Ryan Kalkbrenner 7’0 Trinity: The 2020 Creighton signee was a force in the paint as he scored 25 points and blocked several shots in the Titans 71-48 victory over Wentzville Liberty. He can dominate in the paint with shooting range that extends beyond the 3-point line.
Matt Schark 6’4 Francis Howell: The 2020 power forward had a short night’s work, but he made it count with 17 points in the Vikings’ 89-36 victory over Pacific. He had some strong takes off the bounce and ran the court for a couple of transition dunks. He is a very difficult matchup with his size and skill set.
