John Mall (1-6) vs Fowler (4-2)
Jaziah Sandoval (2020 C) and the John Mall Panthers will be looking to get their second win against the Grizzlies. Sandoval is averaging a double-double with 16.7 points and 12.3 rebounds a game. Tyler Aguirre (2021 F/G) will also be looking to add to his 6.3 points and 8 rebounds average in this contest.
Fowler’s Val Leone (2021 G) and Jonathan Mobbley (2020 C) will be leading the charge in hopes to improve their record. Leone is averaging 18.3 points and 7.2 rebounds a game while Mobbley is recording 13 points and 11.8 rebounds a contest. Add Gabriel Proctor’s (2021 G) 13.5 points and 5.8 rebound average to the equation and the Grizzlies equal tough competition.
Resurrection Christian (6-0) vs Lutheran (4-1)
Recce Johnson (2020 G) is putting up 18.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game while teammate Isaac Jessup (2020 G) has recorded 17.2 points, 6 steals, and 5.3 points a game. With that type of firepower, it comes as no surprise that Resurrection Christian is doing so well.
Lutheran’s Freshman phenom Baye Fall (2023 F/C) is no pushover. Fall has recorded four double-doubles, bringing his average to 27.8 points and 11.8 rebounds a game. Tommy Apodaca’s (2021 G) 11.8 points, 9.2 assists, and 4 steals a game simply add to Lion’s arsenal. How’s that for a marquee matchup?
Ponderosa (5-3) vs Thomas Jefferson (4-4)
Ponderosa’s senior shooters Gabe McDevitt (2020 G) and Austin Valdez (2020 G) have accumulated 223 points, 73 rebounds, and 45 assists on the season. Luke Bille’s (2020 G) 97 points, 23 rebounds, and 40 assists on the season simply adds to a roster that is already pretty strong.
The Spartans will be looking to Darius Hornbuckle (2020 G) and Ryan Moe (2021 G) to rally their team against this tough competition. Hornbuckle is averaging 17.8 points and 2.9 rebounds a game while Ryan has recorded 8.3 points and 3 rebounds per game this season.
Pine Creek (5-1) vs Fountain-Fort Carson (6-4)
Peyton Westfall (2020 G), 14.6 points per game, and Kedarian Maul (2020 F), 7.8 points and 9.8 rebounds a game, and their fellow Eagles will have a tough matchup against the Trojans.
Fountain-Fort Carson’s Keyshawn Maltbia (2020 G/F) and Isaiah Thompson (2021 F/G) are absolutely electric players. Maltbia is averaging 19.8 points and 5.4 rebounds a game while Thompson has recorded four double-doubles on the season with a 14.8 point and 12.4 rebounds per game average.
Littleton (3-5) vs John F. Kennedy (3-5)
Kai Bertram (2020 G) has put up 162 points for the Littleton Lions this season, averaging 20.3 points a game. Teammate Tayvis Sagrillo-Smiley (2020 F) has an average of 16.8 points and 6.6 rebounds a game.
Kennedy’s Ezekial Estrada (2020 G/F) is averaging 18.3 points per game, while Albert Ursetta (2020 G/F) has an average of 12.4 points and 3.3 rebounds a game. Expect for an evenly matched game with this one.
Legacy (3-7) vs Dakota Ridge (2-5)
Gavin Poxson (2021 G) and the Legacy Lightning will be looking to bounce back in this game. Poxson averaged 13.5 points a game while teammate Tyson Spradling (2021 F/G) has recorded 6.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Dakota Ridge’s Taeshaud Jackson Jr. (2021 F/C), 15.4 points and 9.7 rebound average, and Gino Corridori (2021 F/C), averaging 14.8 points and 9 rebounds a game, will also be looking to bounce back after quite a few close loses.
Rangeview (8-0) vs Columbine (6-0)
One of the biggest games of the weekend will be this one. Christopher Speller (2020 G) and Christian Speller (2020 G) will be leading the #1 ranked Raiders against an undefeated Columbine. Christopher has averaged 13.3 points and 5.5 rebounds while Christian has recorded 12.1 points and 6.5 rebounds a game.
The #10 ranked Rebels will be led by Luke O’Brien (2020 G) who has an average of 28.2 points and 11.3 rebounds per game with four double-doubles on the season. Teammate Jeff Potts (2020 G), who has an average of 8.8 points and 2.8 rebounds a game, will be looking to help knock off the reigning state champs.
