For several players, the results of the hard work has really paid off, and they have seen their production skyrocket. In this article, PH takes a look at the most improved players a month into the season.
1. Mason Whittaker 6’5 SG Spanish Springs 2020 – Whittaker was a productive player last season. He has taken his game to another level, nearly doubling his scoring average. In talking to coach Penny during the fall, he mentioned Whittaker as one of the key guys that would be counted on to step up for Spanish Springs in order for them to make a return trip to the playoffs. Looks like mission accomplished as he has taken over the leadership role and helped the Cougars get off to a 10-3 start.

2. Kareem Rowe 6’5 PF McQueen 2020 – Rowe is putting together a dominant season. He is currently leading the Lancers in Points, Rebounds and Blocks. No clue what his numbers were last season, but I’m positive they weren’t this. The 6’5 power forward has been described as a “load” by opposing coaches, and already has 4 double doubles on the year including a 45, and 21 game against Wooster.

3. Londan Coleman 6’3 SG Silverado 2020 (featured image) – I’ll take Coleman on my squad any day. Part of my all foxhole team, the 6’3 wing has taken his game to an entirely different level this season. While Silverado has suffered through injuries, he has been their most consistent player. Coleman took home 1st Team All-Tournament honors at the Legacy classic and is averaging nearly 20 per game.

4. Jaylen Berry 6’2 SG Basic 2021 – A month ago I had never heard of Jaylen Berry, now he is a prime candidate to move up in my C/O 2021 rankings. Berry is a combo guard with the ability to handle PG duties. As far as I can tell, he was part of the JV squad last season. This year he has been a huge part of the turnaround for Basic.

5. Mikey Medlock 6’3 SG Arbor View 2020 – Anytime I see Mikey I tell him the same 4 words. “Make me look good”. Thanks Mikey. Medlock has used the momentum from this summer to put together an impressive start to the season. He’s already surpassed his point total from last year including having 3 games of 20 plus points.
