While the majority of seniors are verbally committed, there are a lot of talented players who have not decided on their college destination. Here are the top uncommitted players in the class of 2020.
Cliff Omoruyi, 6’11 C Roselle Catholic
Omoruyi is one of the most imposing forces on the block in the nation. He blocks almost every shot that comes his way and gobbles up rebounds on both ends. Omoruyi has good footwork in the post and a soft touch around the basket. He dropped his final 13 schools on September 28 and will make his college decision after the end of the season. Omoruyi will provide an immediate impact at the next level because of his ability to defend the rim.
Noah Farrakhan, 6’1 PG Patrick School
The IMG Academy transfer is a lightning quick guard who is in charge of running the Patrick School’s offense. Farrahkan is lethal in both the half court and in transition with his superior handles and court vision. His ability to score in traffic is one of the best in New Jersey and he can knock shots from behind the arc. He has offers from more than 15 schools where he will create an instant impact once he steps on campus.
Raejon Figures, 6’2 CG Bergen Catholic
Figures may get overlooked by Notre Dame signee Matt Zona, but do not sleep on Figures. The 6’2 combo guard is a pesky on-ball defender that rarely gets beat on defense. He can run the Crusaders’ offense, but is also the perfect compliment to Will Richardson in the backcourt. Figures excels at finishing around the basket, but he can also make defenses pay with his three-point shooting. He is a terrific guard who will make a college coach very happy when he makes his decision.
Anthony Thomas, 6’7 SF Olympus Prep
Thomas is an athletic small forward who excels at slashing to the basket. He uses his long frame and good body control to finish tough shots around the basket. Thomas is not just a slasher as he has a good looking stroke and a solid mid-range game. He moves his feet well on the defensive end and could easily average over a block a game as a college freshman. Thomas has five high major schools looking at him and he will give one of those teams a high level athlete who can finish around the rim.
Mounir Hima, 6’11 C St. Benedict’s
The Niger native may be a bit raw on the offensive end, but he is a load down low. Hima is an absolute eraser at the rim who rivals Omoruyi as the top shot-blocker in New Jersey. He grabs every rebound around the rim and dunks everything with authority. His footwork in the post can be improved, but his energy and effort cannot be coached. Hima is a force down low that will provide his future college destination a true inside presence.
