On Tuesday night, I made it over to Winter Haven for the Polk State College High School Tip-Off.

These were the results of the two games.

Auburndale 61, Lake Minneola 52

Santa Fe Catholic 83, Victory Christian 63

Here is a look at the top performers from Tuesday's action.

Javon Bell & Joe Stubbs (Santa Fe Catholic)

The 2020 6'4" guard duo of Javon Bell (21 points) and Joe Stubbs (17 points) always seem to score and get things going for Santa Fe Catholic. Part of a scrappy bunch that makes life awfully tough for opposing teams with their tenacity on defense and transition push, these kids always play hard. Bell was red hot to start this game with 10 points, including two 3's. He is fully over a hand injury that held him back late last season. As for Stubbs, the energy guy was flat out dominant on the break and had a few tenacious dunks. He had 10 points in the fourth quarter.

Dorian Allen (Auburndale)

I appreciated the performance that 2020 5'10" guard Dorian Allen put on for Auburndale. He has some of the quickest feet you'll see in the game of basketball and his shiftiness is hard to defend. Allen finished with a team-high 17 points and was hitting from deep, attacking and distributing the rock. Allen is the No. 1 guy for this Bloodhounds unit.

Micah Thomas (Lake Minneola)

Shooting looked easy for 2021 5'9" guard Micah Thomas. He was really feeling it from outside with 18 points including four 3's, three in the second half alone. Thomas has a quick release that really helps his form shine bright. He'll be a huge piece to this offense.

Also, 2023 6' guard Dylan Diaz was super active with 10 points of his own.

Jean Arcy & Jeremiah Burton (Victory Christian)

2020 5'10" guard Jean Arcy led Victory Christian with 16 points and was a key competent from outside. 2021 5'10" guard Jeremiah Burton was just as important, even more so inside with 12 points.

Also, 2020 6'9" forward Miguel Santos (12 points) cleaned up inside and connected on a few outside looks. 2021 6'10" forward Aleksander Szymczyk played through an illness to add eight points. He was vocal and active on both ends.

Cameron Laguerre & Tobias Holton (Auburndale)

2020 6'3" guard Cameron Laguerre (14 points) was a true sparkplug for the Bloodhounds with his athletic ability and willingness to attack the basket. His jumper is solid as well. As for 2020 6'1" forward Tobias Holton (12 points), he plays a scrappy role as an underrated all-around tough kid.

Ray Davis & Antwan Walker (Santa Fe Catholic)

2020 6'1" guard duo Antwan Walker (16 points) and Ray Davis (10 points) were consistent pieces all night for Santa Fe Catholic. Walker was attacking and fluid with his reads while Davis controlled the tempo and hit some really nice shots. Walker and Davis can switch on or off the ball and can create for their team in a variety of ways.
