The 6’3″ Bowers put in a serious work over the summer with the Missouri Elite 17U as he was able to showcase his 3-point stroke from tournament to tournament. Regardless of the competition he faced every weekend, Bowers was knocking down four to five triples a game on a regular basis. His shooting has helped him garner collegiate interest from schools such as Columbia College, Western Kentucky and Emporia State.
“Repetition and confidence are the keys to my success as a shooter,” Bowers said. “I shoot six days a week and get as much training in and outside of practice as I can. Playing for my summer team, we played against some of the top teams in the country. This has better prepared me to be ready for the upcoming season.”
A productive summer showing by Bowers is definitely what was needed to prepare for the upcoming season where he returns to a Rock Bridge team that won the Class 5 state championship in 2019. With the graduation of three Division I players in Isiaih Mosley, Dajuan Harris and Jamonta Black, Bowers is looking to step into a bigger role this season. After getting a taste of last year’s state championship season, he would love to be a part of another run.
“My goal for this season is for our team to make it back to Springfield this year,” he said. “It was an amazing experience last year that I have always dreamed or being a part of. It was such an honor to play with such a talented group of guys who worked hard, were focused and never gave up.”
