Cypress Park (1-0) vs Katy Cinco Ranch (1-0). The season is still early and only one team came come out as the victor in this game. Here is our full game synopsis and prospect report of the game.

This game was favored by Cinco Ranch for the first three quarters as they came out and set the tone from the winning of the jump ball. The Cougars took the lead and never looked back as they gave the Tigers fits defensively and showcased their patience on the offensive end of the ball. It wasn’t until the start of the fourth quarter when things would start to go the way of the Tigers as they would go on a big 10-0 run and force a timeout but the Cougars couldn’t get settled down. The Tigers continued their onslaught with their full-court pressure. The Tigers went on to take the lead and even go up by 6 points with under 1 min to go in the game, but they couldn’t capitalize and hold on to the lead as they were plagued by free-throw woes. With 15 seconds left in the game and up by 3 Cinco Ranch puts the ball in their best player hands and he hits a nice step-back three as time expires over a defender to send the game into overtime. In overtime, the Cougars would hold on to win it by one as the free throw woes continued into OT for the Tigers.

Jayden Collymore 6’5 SF / Cinco Ranch / Sr. as seen in the picture

Jayden is having a really strong early season showing. He is an athletic wing that can play above the rim as he had a nice two-handed jam in the game. He has great elevation on his jumper from deep and mid-range. He also has really good timing defensively to block shots. He was a problem as he scored the ball at all levels on the floor and knocked down the game-tying trey ball at the end of regulation. He was clutch in OT as he helped his team win the game. He currently doesn’t have any offers on the table and is looking like a really solid D2 prospect. Finished the game with 36 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, and shot 3/5-3PT.

Chris Ngene 6’0 G / Cinco Ranch / Sr.

He is a speedy guard that has a muscular build. He was pesky on the defensive side of the ball and scored a lot in the transition. He also is very patient and a strong ball-handler as he was able to break the press multiple times. He finished with 18 points and 2 steals in the game.

Derek Dickenscheidt 6’5 PF / Cinco Ranch / Sr.

Could be utilized as a small forward at times because of his long-ball shooting potential which allowed him to stretch out the floor. Plays solid with his back to the basket and is better on the high post than the low post. He also had a nice two-handed dunk right down the middle of the lane over a defender. He doesn’t have any offers on the table and would be solid at the NAIA/D3 level. Finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and shot 1/2-3PT.

Israel Inkori 6’2 F / Cinco Ranch / Sr.

He is an undersized power forward but he is as strong as an ox. He set a lot of really solid screens and cleaned up nicely on the offensive glass. He finished the game with 12 points and 6 rebounds.

Zechariah Selvage 5’11 PG / Cypress Park / Sr. PHTX150

Zech is a speedy guard that has some shiftiness in his game. He reads well in the pick-n-roll set. He also is a very tough on-ball defender with great lateral movement. Has quickness on both sides of the ball and a high motor. He currently has two D2 offers on the table. He finished with 17 points, 4 assists, 3 steals, and knocked down 2/4-3PT.

Cameron Jeng 6’2 W / Cypress Park / Sr.

Cam is a small wing player. Has a decent handle from the perimeter going downhill. He is really strong with a nice physical build and is a scoring machine in the paint. He rebounds the ball very well for his size also. Finished the game with 16 points and 6 rebounds.

Harold Perkins 6’3 WG / Cypress Park / So.

Harold is still a young prospect that could end up being pretty special. He is uber-bouncy as he showcased it with two big-time dunk over opponents in a half-court set. He also has a really good left-handed stroke and knocks down the deep ball at a high rate from the corners. He has speed that he turns on and off. Finished the game with 16 points and shot 2/3-3PT.

Anthony "AJ" Ferguson Jr 6’5 SG / Cypress Park / Jr.

Mr. Ferguson stock continues to rise as he is a high volume shooter and a long and athletic scoring guard. His wingspan and on-ball quickness allows him to keep opponents in check and come away with multiple steals in the game. He can finish above the rim but is a marksman from deep and has a nice mid-range pull-up. He finished with 16 points, 3 steals, and shot 2/5-3PT.
