I was inside the gym at Corinth High School to watch teams from Tennessee and Mississippi.
Here are the best performers from day two of The Lighthouse Classic:
Keon Johnson, Webb School: The senior point guard had 31 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists, three blocks and one steal in the Feet’s 71-57 win over Holly Springs. Johnson took home another MVP award honors. He was 12 for 19 from the field and turned the ball over only three times.
JJ Platt, Webb School: The senior guard added 14 points, two rebounds, two steals and one assist in the Feet’s win over the Hawks.
Derek Fountain, Holly Springs: Fountain finished with 17 points, nine rebounds, four steals, two assists and two blocks against Webb School.
Samson Ruzhentsuv, Hamilton Heights: The 6-foot-7 wing had 18 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and one steal in the Hawks’ 64-61 win over West Oaks Academy to win the 2019 Lighthouse Classic Challenge Championship. The Florida commit was named MVP of the game.
Bayron Matos, Hamilton Heights: The 6-9 forward finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, one assist and one block in the win.
Andersson Garcia, Hamilton Heights: The 6-7 wing had 11 points, 14 rebounds, four steals, two blocks and one assist for the Hawks.
Reggie Bass, Hamilton Heights: The sophomore point guard had 15 points, three rebounds and three assists in his team’s win.
Daeshun Ruffin, Callaway: The junior point guard had 35 points, six assists and five rebounds in the Chargers’ 83-72 win over Wooddale. Ruffin was named MVP of the game.
Cuwandric Samuel, Callaway: Samuel had 13 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block against the Cardinals.
Keiveon Hunt, Callaway: Hunt added 20 points, five assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block in his team’s win.
Johnathan Lawson, Wooddale: The junior guard/forward had 29 points, 16 rebounds, two steals and one block against Callaway.
TeKeavion Rounds, Wooddale: Rounds had 17 points, six rebounds and three steals against the Chargers.
Cameron Matthews, Olive Branch: The Mississippi State commit had 14 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals in the ‘Quistors’ 68-62 loss to the Ramsay Rams. Matthews was 6 of 12 from the field.
